Madam Hermione Rose Peace DGCM DOF KD BA is an Adammic politician and courtier who formerly served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Empire of Adammia and is currently the Emperor's Private Secretary, as well the leader of the Dank Party. She was also formerly Minister of Memes, Minister of National Development and Councilor for Metchlia.
Non-micronational life
Hermione is the only daughter of Bill and Christine Peace. She studied Anthropology and African Studies at the University of Birmingham. She is an active member of the Liberal Democrats, having served as the Communications Officer and later Vice-Chair of the federal Young Liberals. She has also served as the Chair of the University of Birmingham Liberal Democrats. Since graduating, she has employed by the Liberal Democrats as a political organiser in South-East Cornwall and later in Bath.
Peace became engaged to marry her partner, Lewis Knight, on 23 August 2024.
Micronational career
Peace discovered the Empire of Adammia through the Liberal Drinks Mafia in late 2017, becoming an honourary citizen. She was made a Dame of the Order of the Meerkat (DM) in the Emperor's 20th Birthday Honours List on 19 February 2018.
On 6 June 2018, Peace became a full citizen and was appointed as Duchess of Greater Tytannia, making her a member of the Ruling Council. A week later, she founded the Dank Party, and was promptly invited to join the Empire's governing coalition as Minister of National Development.
In September 2018, her bedroom and garden were claimed by the Empire as the Province of Dank-upon-Bourn, and she first became part of the Office of the Emperor staff as Director of Communications, succeeding Lady Simpson. She was elected as Councilor of Dank-upon-Bourn unopposed on 13 October 2018. She withdrew her party from the 2018 national election, instead pledging her support to Sir Juliano Saunders' Storm Party. After Saunders became Prime Minister, Peace retained her position as National Development minister, and in November 2018 tabled the Government Ministries Act 2018 which gave her a second department, the Ministry of Memes. On 19 February 2019, she was raised to the position of Dame Commander of the Order of the Meerkat (DCM), (then Adammia's highest chivalric honour), reflecting her position as one of the Emperor's closest friends and confidants.
Peace won a seat in the House of Citizens in the 2019 general election. Withdrawing her support for the Storm Party, she instead formed a coalition government with the Liberal-Moderate Party, becoming Deputy Prime Minister.
After an inactive term as Deputy PM, Peace again stood as her party's sole candidate for the House in the 2020 general election. She retained her seat, but lost her place in government as she was not invited to join the Second Saunders Cabinet. However, on 28 November 2020, she was promoted from Director of Communications to the new post of Emperor's Private Secretary, considered equivalent in rank to the Chief Advisor to the Monarch as the highest-ranking of the Emperor's personal staff. This was seen as being done to compensate her for her diminshed position within Parliament.
Peace once again stood as the sole Dank Party candidate in the uncontested 2021 general election, meaning she automatically remained an MP. She joined the cross-party national unity government set up by Lord James Green, and became Minister of Social Engagement and Joy. In February 2022, she was one of the first individuals to be awarded Dame Grand Cross of the Order of the Meerkat, the highest chivalric honour in Adammia.
