A referendum was held in the Empire of Adammia on 31 December 2016 to determine whether the proposed Third Amendment to the Supreme Directive would be enacted. The supporting side won by a large margin.

Background

The referendum was announced by Emperor Adam I at some point in December 2016.

Campaign

The referendum was the only referendum so far in Adammic history with any significant opposition. The Adammic National Party opposed the Third Amendment, claiming that it allowed for gender-neutral monarchs, which they disagreed with. The Liberal Party defended the Amendment.
