The 2020 General Election will be the second general election to the House of Citizens of the Empire of Adammia. Emperor Adam I called the election on 5 September 2020, setting the polling dates for 3 and 4 October 2020.

Background

The Liberal-Moderate Party won the most seats at the 2019 general election, leaving it one seat short of a majority, and formed a coalition government with the single-member Dank Party, making Lord Charles Michael the Empire's sixth Prime Minister. Dank leader Lady Hermione Peace became Deputy Prime Minister, whilst the leader of the defeated Storm Party, Lady Anna Worthington, became Leader of the Opposition.

Lord Michael's term as Prime Minister saw increased cross-party compromise on issues such as climate change, the Black Lives Matter movement and trans rights, but there were clashes between the government and the opposition over law enforcement and the constitutional status of the Emperor.
