Lady Madam Anna Victoria Worthington, 2nd Baroness of the Jedebiah Hills COA DOF BA is an Adammic politician who was formerly the Minister of Patriotism, the Leader of the Opposition, and Minister of Citizenship and Information of the Empire of Adammia at various points in her career. She has been the official President (or "Chief Wind") of the Storm Party since 2019, although she is currently inactive in this role.
Non-micronational life
Anna Worthington is a graduate of the University of Birmingham, where she studied Philosophy, Religion & Ethics.
Micronational career
Worthington met Adam I, Emperor of Adammia through the University of Birmingham Liberal Democrats. She was made a Dame of the Order of the Meerkat in the Emperor's Birthday Honours list in February 2018. She later became a citizen and was invited to sit on the Ruling Council as Duchess of Dank-upon-Bourn. Despite originally supporting Lady Peace's Dank Party, she switched her support to Sir Juliano Saunders' Storm Party in the run-up to the 2018 elections. After Saunders won the election, he appointed Worthington as Minister of Defence and as Minister of Citizenship & Information.
Worthington oversaw the merger of her two departments into the unified Ministry of Patriotism in November 2018. Worthington soon become known for her views on Adammic foreign policy, which were considered radical even by the Storm Party's standards; she began to advocate for an Adammic military intervention in the neighbouring Kingdom of Wazakhstan in order to "liberate" the country of its "dictator", Ned Hilton, which put her at odds with the Emperor and with foreign minister Lord Maude. She also instigated a cross-party push to condemn Austenasia over its marriage laws in April 2019, which triggered a brief diplomatic incident.
In July 2019, Worthington successfully stood for the leadership of the Storm Party after Saunders stepped down. She was elected as party president on 28 July, defeating Lord Gurr, reportedly by a margin of 95% of party members. Worthington led the party into the 2019 general election, where the party performed worse than expected, winning 3 out of 13 seats. Worthington subsequently became Leader of the Opposition.
Worthington again led the party in the 2020 general election, fielding only two candidates after most of the party's supporters switched to Saunders' new Independent Party. Storm finished last in the popular vote, but both Worthington and her remaining colleague Colonel Asher Bond were re-elected to the House. She subsequently joined a coalition government with the Independent Party and the Red Green Alliance, and became Minister of Citizenship and Information. During the following term, she became extremely inactive. Attempts by her party to contact her were unsuccessful, and as a result Lord Gurr and Lord Colonel Bond effectively assumed acting leadership of the party in October 2021, though they refused to replace her as the official party president. She did not contest the 2021 general election, and is therefore now effectively retired as a politician, although she remains President of the Storm Party in an almost ceremonial capacity.
