His Grace Lord Sir C. B. Gurr, 3rd Duke of Corellia KCM KOF BA is an Adammic politician and noble who was one of the co-Deputy Prime Ministers of Adammia, and a former Minister of Citizenship and Information. He is currently the acting co-leader of the Storm Party and sits on the Ruling Council as the Duke of Corellia. A Liberal politician during VI Legislature, he infamously became the first ever Adammic cabinet minister to resign their post, in protest at the Liberal-Moderate merger. His resignation is often cited as the spark which led to the downfall of the Helliker government and the subsequent victory of the Storm Party in the 2018 national election.

Non-micronational life

Gurr is a graduate of the University of Birmingham with a BA in History and Politics. He was Chair of the University of Birmingham Liberal Democrats from 2017–18.

Micronational career

Gurr met Adam I, Emperor of Adammia through the University of Birmingham Liberal Democrats. After the Adammic government moved to Birmingham, Gurr was invited to sit on the new Ruling Council as the Duke of Paternia. He joined the Liberal Party, and was appointed as Minister of Citizenship and Information as part of the Moderate-Liberal coalition on 3 December 2017.

On 28 September 2018, Gurr resigned as Minister of Citizenship and Information in protest at the planned Liberal-Moderate party merger, the first time in Adammic history that a cabinet minister had resigned. The following day, Paternia was ceded to the United Kingdom, which caused Gurr to lose his Council seat and effectively ended his micronational political career, for the time being. He quit the Liberal Party on 5 October 2018 after the party conference voted to merge with the Moderates, defecting to the Storm Party which he campaigned heavily for.

The constitutional arrangements at the time made it incredibly difficult for Lord Gurr to run for office in 2018 and as a result he was forced to step back from frontline politics, although he continued to advocate for the Storm Party throughout Lord Saunders' first term of office. He ran for leadership of the Storm Party after Saunders stood down in July 2019, but lost to Lady Anna Worthington. The creation of the House of Citizens allowed Gurr to return and he ran in the #5 position on the Storm Party's 2019 candidate list, failing to be elected to the first House of Citizens. However, after Lord Saunders resigned from the House several weeks later, the Storm Party appointed Gurr to assume his seat. In 2020, Gurr proposed a bill which would have called for a referendum to confirm the status of the Emperor; shortly after this bill was defeated by the Lib-Mods, Gurr announced his retirement from Adammic politics, and he did not contest the 2020 election.

In October 2021, with the Storm Party now in a very weak position, Lord Gurr announced his return to politics. He and Lord Colonel Asher Bond became the effective acting joint leaders of Storm, although they insisted that Lady Worthington was still the official party president. As the 2021 general election was uncontested, Gurr automatically became an MP. He and Lord Colonel Bond subsequently became co-Deputy Prime Ministers in the cross-party unity government of Lord Green, and as such Gurr returned to the Cabinet for the first time in over three years.

Storm did not contest the 2022 election and Gurr again seemed to have retired. However, Emperor Adam I appointed him as Duke of Corellia on 8 December 2023 with Decree LXXXVII, replacing the inactive Lady Lucy Griffiths. Since then he has been the sole Storm Party member of the Ruling Council.
