Adammic national anthem referenda, 2014
Two referenda were held in the Empire of Adammia in early 2014 on the matter of the Empire's national anthem. The first, on 2 February 2014, was between the original national anthem, Sim Broadway and a proposed instrumental version of Rule Britannia known as Rule Adammia. This referendum was declared inconclusive due to low turnout. The second referendum, on 29 March 2014, was between Sim Broadway and the theme from Chariots of Fire; the latter won, and it remains the national anthem of Adammia to this day.
Background
Imperial Decree III, issued on 4 May 2013, made Sim Broadway the national anthem of Adammia, along with a range of other national symbols such as the original coat of arms. The decree specified that any future change to either the flag or the national anthem would require public support in a referendum.
In late 2013, the Ruling Council resolved to review the national anthem, with many feeling that jazz music was inappropriate for a national anthem.

Aftermath
Chariots of Fire officially became the national anthem of Adammia on 30 March 2014. It has remained the national anthem ever since, though a number of Adammic citizens remain dissatisfied with its use; the Adammic National Party caused controversy with their 2016 campaign to make the lead single from the album Succ the new national anthem. In more recent times, the Nuclear So-and-so Party and the Dank Party have both suggested replacing the national anthem. Emperor Adam I has suggested that he would like to replace Chariots of Fire one day, but would rather have an original song commissioned instead of adopting another existing song.
