Upper Paternia was an autonomous county of the Empire of Adammia located in the province of Paternia. It was created in February 2018 following a period of civil unrest in Paternia, in which a number of Paternian residents claimed loyalty to Elizabeth Ecart and destroyed paper versions of the Adammic flag. Following a meeting between Adam I, Emperor of Adammia and Ecart, a compromise was reached under which Ecart was given control over the upper floors of Paternia's main household, separate from Paternia's official local government. The county acted similarly to an Adammic colony in terms of its degree of autonomy. The Adammic government, and Paternia's official local government, retained full control over the rest of Paternia, on the understanding that these areas had more amenities. It was ceded back to the United Kingdom in September 2018 along with the rest of Paternia.
