The Sixth Renwick ministry, officially known as the Thirty-sixth ministry, was formed on 1 April 2020, in the aftermath of the March 2020 executive election in the Abeldane Empire. This Reichsregierungskabinett counted with a majority status in the Reichsversammlung throughout most of its term, as Populares held 8 of 13 seats. The ministry was dissolved following the resignation of Vorsitzender Patrick Renwick after the June 2020 legislative election
It was preceded by the Second Daniels cabinet (the 35th ministry), formed by Edward Daniels after being elected as Vorsitzender. It was, after a period of 11 days with no governemnt, succeeded by the Provisional ministry, formed by Renwick.
Formation
Following the March 2020 executive elections, Patrick Renwick of Populares was elected as Vorsitzender with a crushing 91%-9% against Thomas Bainbridge of the Party of Royalists and Cooperatism. The Stellvertretership race, resulted in Nicholas Randouler, also of Populares, won the race with more than 60% of the votes.
With the result being that Populares (later known as the National Union) now held an outright majority in the Reichsversammlung and both the Vorsitzender- and Stellvertreterships, Renwick announced his intent to form a single-party government, the first since the First Freayth cabinet in 2018.
On 1 April 2020, Renwick and the entire ministry were appointed by Emperor Newton and saw major changes with the portfolios and ministers from the Second Daniels ministry, with many ministries merged or redefined, with most Daniels-ministers being replaced.
The government would later go on to see its majority reduced through the April by-election, before losing its majority following the abdication of Emperor Newton and the new Ervecysarich, Stephen, leaving to become an independent.
In the June 2020 Abeldane federal election, the ANU lost all but one seat, meaning that the government could not carry on on its own. Renwick subsequently resigned as Vorsitzender and the government was dissolved.
