The Landsting (lit. the Land's Thing) alternatively the Assembley of the Land is the unicameral legislature of the Kingdom of Demirelia, one of the 6 federal states of the Abeldane Empire. The Landsting was established by Royal Decree of King Patrick I on 30 December 2017.

Powers and duties

The Landsting, under the State Legislatures Act of 2017, has the powers to legislate upon state competences and matters regarding Demirelia. Laws passed by the Reichsversammlung, the Abeldane federal parliament, shall however take precedent over any acts by the Landsting. Acts by the Landsting are traditionally issued in the form of Law Acts.

The Landsting is a unicameral legislature, with 3 members. These three members may be appointed and dismissed at will by the Demirelian monarch. The monarch automatically holds a non-voting membership in the Landsting.

The Statskansler, the head of government in Demirelia, is appointed by the monarch from among the 3 members of the Landsting. The Statskansler, along with being head of government, also serves as chair of the Landsting.
