The 20th executive election of the Abeldane Empire was held from 28 until 29 September 2019, where both the offices of Vorsitzender and Stellvertreter were up for election. This will be the second election in Abeldane history where executive elections and legislative elections will be held separately from each other according to the Constitution of 2018. L'Sydunche will again not be conducting official polling for the 20th election this year.

Incumbent Vorsitzender and Liberty Front leader Edward Daniels, announced a re-election campaign ticket on September 1 with Connor Stumperth, current Deputy Speaker of the Reichsversammlung. On September 14, both Nicholas Randouler of the Populares and Ashley Jaax of the Abeldane Social Ecology announced their campaigns for Vorsitzender of the Abeldane Empire.

For Stellvertreter, Sian, Empress of Abelden declared her candidacy on September 2 under an ASE ticket. On September 11, Max Pollack former Stellvertreter, announced his candidacy under the Populares.

Background

The time frame for the 20th executive election is a direct result of the reforms of the 2018 reforms. Emperor Newton in the last election called for the writs of the election on 8 March 2019 and also scheduled that all federal elections shall be held at the last consecutive Thursday to Sunday of the month, with all those elected to their offices starting their terms at the beginning of the next month immediately. Elected executives will be appointed by Emperor Newton on October 1.

Policies

Populares

The Populares have endorsed two-time Vorsitzender nominee Nicholas Randouler to be their candidate. Under Randouler's campaign, proposals for an extended Abelden culture have been expressed with ideas such as an official Oktoberfest holiday in Abelden. Other ideas include membership and participation in the Micronational Olympics Federation to expand the cultural development within Abelden.

Randouler's campaign has also promised to expand Abelden's land and create a tourist agency called AbelTravel which will encompass a map only assessable to Abeldane citizens. Other proposals include reviving Abelden's activity both domestically as well as in the Konmalehth.

Liberty Front

Liberty Front is campaigning on a previous and elaborated version of their former platform from the March 2019 election. In early September, Liberty Front released its second mainstream manifesto which emphasized the promise of federal decentralization. According to their manifesto, Liberty Front proposes to form a National Decentralization Committee composed of the Vorsitzender, the Minister of Homeland and Geographical Affairs, state monarchs, state executives, and the Emperor of the Abeldane Empire. Liberty Front argues that decentralization is necessary for achieving grassroots democracy and securing a better Abelden.

Among other policies by Liberty Front, the party has proposed a Public Forum for greater cooperation between new citizens and established, experienced citizens within the Empire. According to the manifesto, the Public Forum appeals to the minority faction within the party that believes in direct democracy for all citizens. It is proposed that all citizens should have a voice in government business and should express their goals and inquiries to the government to further the transparency drawn between some Abelden citizens. According to the manifesto, the Public Forum will encourage a new generation of Abeldanes to take part in the various federal and delegated governments which compose the Empire.

Liberty Front is also proposing an economic system based on Smithian economics, the free market and free trade. The party has also endorsed a policy known as Abeldenization, or promotion of the Abeldane culture and history.
