Ștefan Marius Snagoveanu (Romanian Cyrillic: Щєфан Мариус Снаговєану) (born 10 April 2004) is a Snagovian politician who has been the first and only president of Snagov since the establishment of the office on 18 June 2020, the date of the signing of the Snagovian Declaration of National Rebirth, by Snagoveanu himself, along with David Robert Davidovici. In addition, he is the commander-in-chief of the Snagovian People's Army and the General Secretary of the National Snagovist Front.
Personal life
He was born on 10 April 2004 in Siliștea.
Political career
Snagov
After the signing of the Snagovian Declaration of National Rebirth on 18 June 2020, he became the first President of the Republic of Snagov. By the Snagovian 2022 constitution, the next presidential elections will happen in 2024.
Vishwamitra
Snagoveanu first joined Vishwamitra as a special envoy and delegate of the government to various intermicronational organizations in September 2020. Following the resignation of then foreign minister Nishwan Baidantic in October 2020, he was appointed to the position of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations on 4 October 2020, thereby becoming the first non-local minister of the government. He continued to serve as the foreign minister throughout his premiership and remained in office till his appointment as the Governor of Basistha in September 2021.
Ahead of the March 2021 general election, he was appointed as caretaker Prime Minister of Vishwamitra succeeding Princess Anoushkaa on 28 January 2021 and following the victory of the National People's Congress in the election, he was re-appointed to the position of the prime minister for a fresh tenure which was marked by several events in the nation. By June the same year, it was widely speculated that he would soon be replaced following his incapacity to remain in office and that he would be appointed to any other senior position in the nation. In the same month, he appointed Farhaz Hazarika and Michal Nowacki as his deputy prime ministers and subsequently named Farhaz Hazarika as the President of the ruling-National People's Congress making all speculations about his replacement to be confirmed. In the initial days, it was presumed that following his stepping down as the prime minister, he would be appointed to lead the powerful Privy Council as the President, however with the permanent appointment of Chris Ramsay, he denied of the position.
In August 2021, the adoption of the new constitution paved way for the monarchy in the state of Basistha to be abolished by a consensus of the Conference of Rulers and such happened in September. On 9 September 2021, he announced his resignation as prime minister and subsequently Farhaz Hazarika was named as his successor. Following his resignation, he was appointed to become the first Rajyapal of Basistha, the non-royal head of state of Basistha and took over two days later on 11 September. He was subsequently invested to the Order of the Lotus in the grade of a Grand Cross with Collar and to the Order of the Vishwamitra in the rank of a Grand Cordon, both reserved for the rulers of the states. He continued to serve as the non-royal ruler of the state and often showed his interests to return to active politics relinquishing his constitutional role. As the governor, he was faced by administrative challenges especially brought by the lack of proper communication with the local leaders and citizens. Among his actions taken as the governor include the adoption of a new state flag, and the creation of two state honours.
By March 2022, it was confirmed that he would resign as the governor. In order to find a suitable successor to him, the Conference of Rulers met and deliberated on the status of the state as confirmed by the constitution. Thereupon, a consensus was reached that the monarchy in Basistha was to be reinstated and subsequently Anoushkaa Patranabish was chosen to be the Rajpramukh of Basistha. His resignation became effective on 18 March, the day when the monarchy was re-established. On 28 April 2022, with the re-creation of the Privy Council, he was nominated to serve as a member by virtue of being a former prime minister and has since then being serving as a member. He is expected to return to active politics with the newly-floated Vishwamitran National Party of Rory Leonard.
Austenasia
Snagoveanu became a full Austenasian national on 1 December 2023 (having previously been an Honorary Subject from 22 November) upon the passage of an Act of Parliament that annexed Prahova, an area of land he had claimed as a Territory for the Empire. Snagoveanu administers Prahova as its Governor, and was further ennobled with the titles Baron of Prahova and Count of North Muntenia.
