His Royal Highness Prince Debajyoti Sriraya, the Prince Father of Purvanchal (born 1969) is a member of the House of Sriraya and the father of Maharaja Varuna Sriraya of Purvanchal who is also the Rashtradhyaksh since 2020. He currently serves as a member of the Royal Council of Purvanchal that advises the regent in their duties. Apart from serving on the council, he had served as the Mayor of Rajagriha from 25 July 2021 until 25 July 2023.
His formal title is Rajpita Debajyoti Sriraya.
Life
Prince Debajyoti was born in 1969 as the third child of his parents. He has two older siblings and an young sibling. He married Princess Krishna of the House of Sridasa and is the father of the Maharaja of Purvanchal Varuna Sriraya. He is an uncle to Tanishkaa Patranabish, Anoushkaa Patranabish, and Klarissa Sriraya and an uncle by marriage to Abhiraj Kar and Tanvi Sridasa. He is also a first cousin once removed to Shivangi Roy.
Titles and roles
Following his son's ascension to the throne of Purvanchal, he was conferred the title of "Prince Father of Purvanchal". On 25 July 2021, he was appointed as the Mayor of the federal capital territory of Rajagriha succeeding Florian Corre and remained in office for the next two years, until being succeeded by Princess Krishna on 25 July 2023. On 1 August 2021, on the occasion of Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya's first anniversary on the federal throne, he conferred the title of "Maharajajanak" upon him.
