The Order of the Leopold Lion Crown (formally the Most Honourable Order of the Leopold Lion Crown) is an order of Queensland. The decoration was established on 29 March 2021 by Edward XI as Sovereign of the Kingdom of Queenslnd, incorporated into the Queenslandian awards system. The order is awarded for meritorious service to the sovereign of Queensland, and as a token of his personal goodwill. It can be awarded to both Queenslandian and foreigners, and is seen as diplomatic gift of merit.
Grades and Order
Grades
The The Sovereign of Order (currently Benedikte X of Queensland) is Sovereign of the Order. All deeds granting decorations of the Order must bear the signature of the Sovereign. Members of the order are granted a certificate and personal coat of arms with the insignia of the Order. The Order has four grades:
- Grand Cross (reserved for the royal family, foreign heads of state and people of Queensland)
- Grand Commander (conferred on the people of Queensland, prime minister, foreign heads of state, etc.)
- Commander (conferred on people of Queensland, senior politicians, diplomats, etc.)
- Officer (conferred on people of Queensland, senior politicians, diplomats, etc.)
