The Constitution of Vishwamitra is a codified constitution which is also the highest legal document of the nation. The current constitution was adopted and has been into force since 1 August 2021. The current constitution replaced the absolute monarchy in the nation which was established following the transition to a monarchy in June 2020. Prior to the adoption of the third constitution, all powers were concentrated in the hands of the Rashtradhyaksh and they were responsible for the affairs of the state.
History
The first constitution was adopted on 21 May 2014 immediately after the results of the 2014 general election were announced. The drafter of the first constitution was outgoing prime minister Varuna Sriraya who presented the constitution before the executive governing council which was later approved by the members. With the constitution being adopted on 21 May, newly-elected prime minister Klarissa Sriraya became the first office-holder in the nation to take an oath in the name of the constitution. The first constitution was a very basic document bearing rules, regulations, and information about the nation. The constitution remained in force till the adoption of the second constitution on 6 December 2015.
The second constitution was introduced on 6 December 2015 by Varuna Sriraya.
