The Most Distinguished Order for Merit and Public Service (Hindi: सर्वोत्कृष्टता एवं सार्वजनिक सेवा मानपदवी, IAST: Sarvotkrishtata evam Saarvajanik Seva Manpadavi) is the ninth and the junior-most order of chivalry in the State of Vishwamitra founded by the Rashtradhyaksh Dhrubajyoti Roy on 6 January 2021 to recognize the services of people towards various fields of human endeavour - art, culture, heraldry, vexillology and bravery. The order is conferred in a single grade - Companion (CMP).

History

The Order for Merit and Public Service was established on 6 January 2021 by Rashtradhyaksh Dhrubajyoti Roy through a royal decree after being inspired to establish one such order to commemorate and celebrate the heroic action of the Duke of Osian after he saved the life of one of his neighbours from a devastating housefire.
