Zar Antonov (born 21 August 2000) is a Greek-born German micronationalist who is the first and current President of the United Republic of Obscurium since 3 March 2018 and is also the founder of the nation. Furthermore, He is an amateur vexillologist, herald and self proclaimed explorer.

Personal life

Zar Antonov was born on 21 August 2000 in Athens, Hellenic Republic, where he spent much of the early years of his childhood. It was only until he turned 4 years of age when he and his family moved to Germany where he has been residing ever since. He is bilingual and can fluently speak German and English.

Micronational career

Plans to break away from the German state had been considered by Antonov as early as the year 2015 but never resulted in any substantial efforts. It was only in 2018 when he proclaimed the United People's Republic of Mars (UPRoM) that he became a state leader. However, the plan to establish a communist state on the planet of Mars proved to be too ambitious and so the UPRoM became the United Republic of Obscurium, with Antonov continuing to serve as President of the nation until today.

In 2019, Antonov successfully represented Obscurium at MicroCon 2019, forging lasting relations with multiple other states.

On the 25th of June 2022, Zar Antonov organized the Micro-Euro Summit 2022 in Chyse (Czechia) for the first time, alongside Arthur de Tourneau of Duckionary. This summit was a great success and is to be repeated in 2023.
