History |
The following is a list of prime ministers of Sabia and Verona. There have been fourteen people who have served as heads of the Sabioveronese government, of which four have been humans and ten have been plush toys. For its entire existence, Sabia and Verona has been under a parliamentary system in which the head of government has a considerable degree of influence and power over the head of state, who has been, since Sabia and Verona's establishment in 2012, a monarch.
From the Kingdom's foundation up until 2015, when the second constitution of the Kingdom was adopted, the position of head of government of Sabia and Verona pertained to two separate offices: the Governor and the Prime Minister. The Governor, originally appointed by the Monarch, was intended to be the leader of the human population of the Kingdom, while the Prime Minister was the intended leader of the stuffed toy population. This was espoused by the first constitution, adopted after the creation of the Federation in 2014.
The office of Governor was disestablished in 2015, when the political "segregation" of human and stuffed toy citizens of the Kingdom ended. This list only details Prime Ministers.
List of Prime Ministers (since 2012)
The Prime Minister of Sabia and Verona (in Sabian kuragikurág, plural: kuragikuragi, [kurɑɡikuˈrɑɡː]; lit. "Chief of Government") has been the sole head of government of Sabia and Verona since 2015, and was co-head of government with the Governor before that. The Prime Minister is in charge of the PM's Ofice within the Government. The role of the Prime Minister has varied greatly since its creation. Each of the three constitutions of the Kingdom has redefined the position. The latest constitution, adopted in 2017, defined the PM (officially referred to as the Chief of Government in the constitution) as the leader of the Government, resposible for the application of laws. Formerly, the Chief of Government would also serve as speaker in the Parliament.
The Prime Ministers who served under the 2012 and 2014 constitutions, which divided the position of head of government into the PM and the Governor, were in fact co-heads of government. The first de facto PM was Pomme-Gabrielle Gauvier, the first de jure PM was Napoléon Bleuberrie of the Socialist Party, and the first PM elected in popular elections was Osez Kóvérsz of the Unity Party. The last PM to serve as co-head of government with a Governor was Bertrand Rivière of the Unity Party, first with Tarik Kârjasary and then with Saria Josephine as Governors.
