Sabia and Verona held its first parliamentary election on 23 December 2012, alongside Juclandia. All 20 seats of the unicameral Legislative Courts were elected. Two parties participated in the election: the Socialists, led by then-Prime Minister Napoléon Bleuberrie, and the Unity Party, led by Osez Kóvérsz.

The Socialist Party and Bleuberrie, who had been elected by the Courts (at the time composed of self-appointed political leaders of the region), were widely expected to emerge victorious, but Kóvérsz ultimately led Unity to a majority with nearly 70% of the vote. Kóvérsz then succeeded Bleuberrie as Prime Minister and installed a national unity government, forged by the Karasal Treaty, on 1 January 2013.
