Glencrannog is the smallest Territory in the Empire of Austenasia at one square foot. It is an enclave of the UK Scottish council area of Argyll and Bute.
Glencrannog was bought online by the then Crown Prince Jonathan on 13 October 2008 from a website which claimed to bestow the title of Laird along with a small plot of land. Although it was later discovered that the title bestowed was fraudulent, the sale of the plot of land itself was legal. On 21 February 2009, Glencrannog was annexed by the Empire of Austenasia, and the now Jonathan I was granted the title "Laird of Glencrannog" by Parliament as an honour under Austenasian rather than Scottish law.
From its annexation until the Empire of Austenasia Act 2013, Glencrannog held a unique status as an Austenasian Town with no residents or Representatives. However, upon the passing of said Act on 4 May 2013, Glencrannog was granted the newly created status of an Austenasian Territory. The Austenasian government is not currently in contact with anybody who lives near enough to the land to administer it, but James von Puchow served as its Governor from 7 March 2016 until 7 January 2018 due to being the Austenasian official considered most likely to visit Glencrannog during that time.
