The Abeldane trimole, simply known as the trimole (code: ABT), is the official currency of the Abeldane Empire. The trimole is subdivided into 100 cents. The trimole has been used previously as an official currency by Militarmia and others.

The symbol for the trimole is ƭ and the code for the trimole is ABT, which stands for Abeldane trimole. The trimole has a long history within many micronations for several years.

Etymology

The word 'trimole' comes from the word tri, which stands for three, and mole (animal). The word trimole means three moles. The word was used first back in 2011.

Units

The trimole is subdivided into 100 cents per 1 trimole. The subdivision is called cents. There are currently 1, 5, 10 and 50 cent coins in circulation.

History

The trimole was first established as the official currency of Rostyland. Banknotes were produced but only the denomination 5 and 100 was produced. 5 had a real security features, which are security thread and watermark. The 100 trimole was the first banknote in the micronational world to have a plastic window in a paper, called by numismatist hybrid notes. Rostyland was disestablished and Militarmia succeeded it. Militarmia as well took the name trimole for it's currency.

Militarmia had created many types of series of banknotes. The first series contained the banknotes 20, 50, 100 and 500. These banknotes incorporated security features. Due to inflation, the series was demonetized and it was followed by the second series, which will be the last series Militarmia will ever have. The denominations were as followed: 10 and 20. Only two were created because Militarmia was taken over by the Sorrenian Federation and only the 20 trimole was the banknote ever produced with only 20 pieces created. Coins were created for the first time in the trimole's history. Coins consisted of 5 cents, 10 cents, 25 cents, 50 cents, 1 trimole and 2 trimoles.

After Militarmia was taken over, the Abeldane Empire soon used the trimole as the official currency of the Abeldane Empire and the commonwealth. 2 months after the establishment of the Abeldane Empire, the Imperial Central Bank was created as the central bank of the Abeldane Empire. The Imperial Central Bank was also in charge on creating banknotes and coins. Currently the trimole has the following denominations: 5ƭ, 10ƭ, 20ƭ, 50ƭ, and 100ƭ. Coins are soon to be designed.

The first banknotes to be released into circulation was the 100 trimoles and 50 trimoles on the 16 January 2015. The banknotes contain new security features that are hard to conterfeit. Followed to be released by 20 trimoles on the 23 January 2015. The 10 trimole note was released on the 27 February 2015, depicting Donald, Duke of Pleston. The 5 trimole-note was released the following day the 10 trimole note was released, on the 28 February 2015, thereby completing the entire series.

Coins

The Abeldane trimole subdivision is called cents. 1 trimole is equal to 100 cents.

The new Abeldane coins will be launched by late November 2014. An update has been made that the coins are to be launched by the middle of 2015. The coins were officially released on the 19 January 2016 consisting of six denominations: 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 25c and 50c. Banknotes

The banknotes of the Abeldane trimole were first issued on the 16 January 2015 with a ƭ100 and ƭ50 and a ƭ20 was followed on the 23 January 2015. ƭ10 and ƭ5 notes were issued in February 2015. A ƭ1000 note was issued on 21 March 2015 thereby completing the series.

The banknotes carry the images of the most prominent people in Abelden and the images of the territories and cities of Abelden. These notes carry some simple features but are very hard to counterfeit. Such as this are the transparent window applied to the ƭ100 banknote and the signature of the governor. All notes are design by HIM Emperor Stephen of Abelden and are copyrighted by AbeldenWorks GmbH and the designer.

The banknote designs were chosen by the people since these people have contributed their time and mind for Abelden and its people. The back designs were chosen by the emperor himself and majority agreed with the designs and were happy with it. The photos taken from each people depicted were allowed for use in banknotes in their approval.

New banknotes were issued on the 9 August 2015 depicting new several places in Abelden. The new series is called the City series as it depicts all cities around Abelden. The obverse of the notes remain the same but with different pictures and on the reverse depicts the cities around Abelden. The new series includes a new 1 and 1/2 trimole note. The new notes are signed by Llewelyn Lawton.
