The Arlandican dollar (Filipino: Dolyar ng Arlandika; symbol: AR$; code: ARD) is one of the two official currencies of the Kingdom of Arlandica, alongside the Philippine peso. It is also the sole official currency of the Kingdom of Courline. The dollar is not widely used in daily transactions and is primarily utilized within government establishments. The Trans-Arlandic National Bank, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is responsible for monetary policy. The dollar is subdivided into 100 cenars (ç).
History
As separate micronations, Arlandica and Lémarita (now a province) had their own currencies: the Cenar and the Lebetaryan dollar (Liberty dollar). The Cenar was used from February to March of 2021 until the Arlandic Agreement. On the other hand, the Lebetaryan dollar was used in Lémarita from April 10, 2019, until its admission to Arlandica as a province. These currencies became the predecessors of the Arlandican dollar, which was implemented as the country's secondary currency from June 15, 2022, when Arlandica annexed Lémarita.
At the same day, the Trans-Arlandic National Bank (TANB) and the Arlandican dollar was formed. It was later mentioned in the 2022 Arlandican constitution after an amendment.
On June 27, 2024, Jerold I signed Royal Decree No. 113, also known as "A Decree for Enhancing the Financial Infrastructure," which acted as the charter of the Trans-Arlandic National Bank and the Arlandican dollar. It also introduced new and improved designs for banknotes, as well as the first batch of steel-made coins. The term Cenar is now used as a subunit of the currency, represented by the "ç" symbol.
On August 17, 2024, the Kingdom of Courline adopted the Arlandican dollar as its main official currency. Courline became the first micronation, aside from Arlandica, to adopt the currency.
Monetary policy
Central bank
Located in Rio Santiago City, Province of Lémarita, the Trans-Arlandic National Bank (TANB) functions as the central bank of the Kingdom of Arlandica. Operating under the control of the Ministry of Home Affairs and ownership of the monarch and the parliament, it oversees currency management, printing/minting processes, and serves as the treasury of the Arlandican government, holding the assets of Arlandica. Benz Gian Arellano currently serves as its administrator. This state-owned company plays an important role in maintaining the stability and authenticity of the Arlandican dollar, serving as a linchpin within the country's financial infrastructure.
Given that the bank is situated in Rio Santiago City, the city functions as Arlandica's financial center and retains 1/3 of the country's funds and assets.
Reserves
As of June 2024, TANB holds 2 kilograms of mung beans in reserve, valued at approximately AR$2,000.

Old banknotes
The first series was usually made of bond paper to avoid purchasing expensive materials due to a lack of funds at that time. However, this series was used as a decorative design and never circulated in any parts of Arlandica.
The second series is the first set of actual printed banknotes, and all denominations feature the face of Jerold I, the current king of Arlandica. The design was inspired by the United States dollar. Its circulation was recorded in Rio Santiago City, Lémarita.
Exchange rates and value
The Arlandican dollar is pegged to mung beans (munggo) at a fixed exchange rate of 1 dollar to 1 gram of mung beans. The currency is convertible to any other currency, but exchanges typically occur based on the current value of mung beans as calculated in Arlandican dollar, and can be converted to Philippine peso, US dollar, Japanese yen, South Korean won, British pound, and Euro.
