The Sancratosian impresa (Lingua Franca Nova: Impresa sancratosian; code: SNI; symbol: ◊, formerly: ), colloquially known as the Simpresa is the official curency of Sancratosia.
The name of the currency comes from the phrase : "Sancratosia impresa sua mone", which translates to "Sancratosia prints its currency".
Overview
Since its creation, the currency has been pegged to the Canadian dollar and the ratio is fixed at 2 to 1 in favour of the Canadian dollar.
Up until the end of 2023, it's symbol was a large "S", with a small "i" in the center.
As of 28 March 2024, it is estimated that 1 488◊ (CAD 744$) is in circulation.
The Sancratosian impresa is a popular item exchanged with other micronationalists.
Banknotes
The Inaugural series of banknotes were unveiled by the Government of Sancratosia on 24 January 2022[1] This first series features the impresa in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100. These denominations are differentiated by their different colours of red, cyan, violet, green, yellow and magenta. With a vertical orientation, they feature a portrait of Princess Cloe on the obverse and the national flower of Sancratosia, the Allium schoenoprasum on the reverse.
