Indokistani Second Republic (Indonesian: Republik Indokistan Kedua) was the second incarnation of Indokistani Republic that was restored as aftermath of January Revolution in 2011. At this period, Indokistani micronational activities began to become more professional and serious, especially after its arrival to the MicroWiki community in February 2011.

Throughout its 19-month existence, the Second Republic paved the cultural system and was highly influential on the history of Indokistan. Second Republic was the second-longest historical period on Indokistani history, losing only to the Federal State of Indokistan that survived for three years.

History

After the successful January Revolution, entire government offices and positions were restored. With their first week on office, massive development on various affairs was done, with establishment of cabinet ministries, rise of Indokistani citizens registry, and for the first time Indokistan was divided by cities, with Jumstraad appointed as capital city.

Indokistan enters their new stage of micronationalism after its entry to the MicroWiki community in February 2011, initiated by Mustafa Hakim and Rizky Aulia after approval by president Farhan Abbas. This entry was highly important since it changes the entire nature of Indokistani micronationalism which became more serious as a political simulation rather than a colective entertainment. On 28 February, Indokistan had the first contact with Los Bay Petros, starting the nation's foreign relations.

On March and April 2011, Indokistan faced by conflicts made by neighboring countries, with Indokistan-Ntolian War and Nameless Betrayal that shocked the country. Despite its disastrous effect, those conflicts did not damage any developments made inside the country. Ntolian demise in May 2011 broughe stability back to the war-torn capital Jumstraad and the country, and peace with Nameless was achieved in August 2011, as Indokistani government agreed to recognize the Nameless State and establish diplomatic relations.

The Second Republic was one of the founder of proposed intercontinental confederation called Indonovia that was established on March 2012. Despite of previous enthusiastic mood welcoming the proposal, the confederation later failed as members began to leave the union just weeks after the commencement.

Politics

Three presidents led the country, with Farhan Abbas that restored his position after January Revolution, Dicky L. K. succeeding Farhan after election, and Mustafa Hakim ascended the seat after Dicky resigned on February 2012. Despite the three presidents, Mustafa remained the only prime minister for the entire period, leaving his position only in February 2012 to replace Dicky that was resigned.

Two ministry cabinets was formed on this period, with the first "November Cabinet" that was established in November 2010 only continuing their tasks until "April Cabinet" replaced it. New "September Cabinet" was formed after 2011 election, that remain functional until shortly before the declaration of Emergency Government in August 2012. Two successing parliaments were formed, with Farhangrad Parliament established on March 2011 was replaced by Bolshoiskii Parliament in October 2011 as result of the controversial policy of De-Farhanization.

On this period, the first presidential election was successfully held, with Dicky L. K. emerged as the winner and became the country's second president. This election became the only election that was held with a physical voting booth, as later development forced the government to replace it with an online voting.

Even with existence of political parties, these parties had no significant influence on Indokistani citizens, which motivates the country to switched to single-party political system, with formation of United Peoples Party as result from merging of remaining thee Indokistani political parties at that time - Peoples Social Party, United Republican Party, and Islamic Party of Indokistan in June 2011. This system survived until June 2012, when Barakstan-based Islamic Development Party was formed. The Second Republic brings many influences on the country party politics even after the collapse of the Republic, with non-partisan politics prevailing over the parties, political parties no longer seen as important until the future Federal Republic established in 2012.

First Indokistani constitution was created on October 2011, when parliament members showed their support on a petition, which triggered a process to ratify the entire constitution text inside the parliament on 11 November 2011. The same constitution text was amended once on January 2012, after mistakes founded on the constitution text.

Administrative division

As a step to modernisation, on February 2011 president Farhan Abbas ordered the country, that was still a city-state, to be divided into three cities - Jumstraad, Flastraad, and Trastraad. On May 2012 Bobodolands Barakstan joined Indokistan as two separated provinces, Bobodolands and Dacoen Barakstan. The merge of Bobodolands Barakstan triggers the government to unite the first Indokistani three cities as Travenoras province, also known as the Indokistan Proper. New province Centralotus was established in June 2012 by Lindy Lucky, which became the first province not originated from state-merging.

Foreign Relations

On February 2011, Indokistan for the first time enters MicroWiki sector and engaged in contact with another micronations. On 28 February 2011, first relations with Los Bay Petros was established, beginning a special relationship between both countries spanning for years.

Indokistan was the founding member of Association of Indonesian Micronations established on June 2011, member of Organisation of Active Micronations since March 2011, and Micronational Cartography Society with Solovyovagrad added on Micras maps since August 2011.

Economy

Indokistani currency KistanRupiah was for the first time recognized as official in April 2011, but its printing process was failed and the official status of KistanRupiah was quickly revoked. The government instead recognizing Indonesian Rupiah as official currency, until October 2011, when KistanRupiah were revived, mainly served as national pride and symbol instead of an actual circulationg and functioning currency. Throughout the period, despite of KistanRupiah official status, Indonesin Rupiah remain the most popular currency.

Culture

Second Republic oversaw massive cultural developments, with Indokistani citizens began to create their own "Indokistani identity". Cultural developments occured during this era influenced inside Indokistan proper regions until now.

Indokistani variant of cyrillic, traditional games, and visual arts all developed during this era. "The Adventures of Duck" and "The Blinks" comics that circulated during that time were popular among citizens. Those creations was massively promoted throughout the country, with citizens enjoys and reads it regularly.

Collapse of Second Republic

Indokistan planned a vacuum period - the country would be "hibernated" and no micronational activities allowed - in December 2011, which later was successfully revived in January 2012. Seeing this as a normal procedure, the government again initiate the process in March–April 2011 for educational reason.

However, on April 2012, the planned revival was failed to took place, as Indokistani citizens refused to return to their respective offices, with many showed their intention to retire from Indokistan by no longer responding to calls made by officials. In July 2012, new province Slobodan was established, and it was expected to relieve the problems occured in other provinces, mainly on the citizens participation.

This situation later escalated into a crisis, when Slobodan native citizens, expected to joined Indokistan, instead refused to accept Indokistani leadership over the region, causing difficulties to consolidate rule over Slobodan. Refusal from Travenoras citizens to return to offices and Slobodan citizens to join Indokistan caused the country to run with only very small number of members.

President Mustafa Hakim later declared emergency, centralised the states authority, and set an Emergency Government on August 2012 with National Salvation Council as the supreme authority, effectively dissolved the dying Second Republic.

Legacy

The collapse of Second Republic was the turning point of the entire of Indokistani history and its micronational movement. The later form of Indokistan was runned by a different generation than the Second Republic and its previous forms. After the majority of Second Republic politicians and citizens (known as "Travenoras Generation") retired, Indokistani government were runned by individuals from more diverse origin, with majority of it arrived from different micronations merging with Indokistan.

The Second Republic also became the main source of Indokistani nostalgia, as several citizens, especially those who originates from Travenoras saw the period was the "golden era" of Indokistan. Almost half of the entire physical artefacts and collections stored by the National Archives of Indokistan was originated from the Second Republic era.
