List of streets in New Eiffel |
Norton Street was a fully-paved cycle street located entirely on the New Eiffel Main Route 1 in north Plitvice. Commencing with the Main Route in said city, Norton Street began directly adjacent to Seat Square in the largest and only-populated city of New Leeds and concluded upon reaching Gæ Pis Street at New Finland Monument in the capital city of Új Repülő. 20.5 metres (67.2 ft) long, Norton Street ran adjacent to New Eiffel Gardens to the north and the Rugbull Field to its south for the street's entire length. Norton Street was the second-longest street in New Eiffel after the 23.6-metre (77 ft)-long Smith Street which comprised the entirety of the J16.
The pathway on which Norton Street was located had been around since between 15 January and 20 March 1946; the Main Route was established in January 2018 in the Republic of New Finland, the predecessor state to New Eiffel. The New Eiffelic Ministry of Transportation began designating streets on 28 December 2019; six streets were designated on 10 March 2020 in order to comprise every section of road in the micronation, including Norton Street. The street and all others permanently lost their designation upon New Eiffel's dissolution on 1 November 2020. After the territory in which Norton Street was located was incorporated into the state of New Eiffel in the Grand Duchy of Australis on 12 January 2021, Norton Street did not re-receive its designation.
Description
A street located entirely on the New Eiffel Main Route 1, Norton Street—fully-paved—began alongside the road in northeast Plitvice, directly adjacent to Seat Square in the largest and only-populated city of New Leeds. Headed westbound for its entire length, Norton Street passed New Eiffel Gardens to its north and the Rugbull Field to its south; New Eiffel Gardens immediately fronted the New Eiffel–United Kingdom North Border. Norton Street concluded its 20.5 metres (67.2 ft) extent upon reaching the 4.20-metre (14 ft)-long Gæ Pis Street which began by New Finland Monument in the capital city of Új Repülő. Norton Street was among the only fully-paved streets in the principality, alongside Gæ Pis Street, Új Repülő Street and ǃkhās Street on the Main Route 1; Northwest Street on Dead Tree Lane; and Worker's Street in Seat Square, which was the only street not located on a road. Norton Street was also the second-longest street in New Eiffel after the 23.6-metre (77 ft)-long Smith Street which comprised the entirety of the J16.
History
The pathway on which Norton Street was located had been around since between 15 January and 20 March 1946; the Main Route was established in January 2018 in the Republic of New Finland, the predecessor state to New Eiffel. On 28 December 2019, the New Eiffelic Ministry of Transportation began designating streets, commencing with ǃkhās and Seat Street (the latter was re-designated a public square on 9 February 2020). Új Repülő Street was designated on 9 February 2020, replacing Seat Street's erstwhile designation, followed by Gæ Pis Street on 26 February. Six streets were designated on 10 March to comprise every section of road in the micronation—Dead Tree Street; Diamond Street of the Esteemed Gems on Prince Zabëlle I Road; Northwest Street; La-la-lee Street (later renamed Randouler Street) on the J25; Smith Street; and Norton Street. The latter street was named after Emperor Norton, who is anarchically associated with micronationalism. The street and all others permanently lost their designation upon New Eiffel's dissolution on 1 November that same year. After the territory in which Norton Street was located was incorporated into the state of New Eiffel in the Grand Duchy of Australis on 12 January 2021, Norton Street did not re-receive its designation.
