Elijahgate
ElijahGate or Elijahgate was a major New Eiffelic political scandal involving Elijah M of the New Eiffelic Party and coalition of Individualism. The scandal stemmed from leaked documents by Luke I of Nottingham Woods to Prince Zabëlle I showcasing a plan to propose an act known as the Act Act 2019 abolishing Zabëlle I's power to veto any proposed bill of the New Eiffelic parliament. This plan was not meant to be public knowledge, and was a hidden agenda of the New Eiffelic Party and coalition of Individualism with support from Janus Smith of the Yellow Party. There is also evidence that the plan involved Leon Montan of the Communist Party.
The plan was at first called unlawful and unconstitutional, and as a result Elijah M was tried for treason, and banned from holding political power.
The plan stated by Elijah M is as follows:
"...right after zed accepts this bill [the Act Act] me and Janus will put up our 5 acts that will free the nation. zed wont be able to stop them, and then individuals will be the governments of themselves and their property, free to be part of any political position, and the government will be voluntary, like a charity. me and Janus just need that nobody interferes with the plan\ [sic]"
The plan involves Janus Smith, and proposing an act known as the Act Act 2019 in order to abolish Zabëlle I's power to veto any proposed bill of the New Eiffelic parliament, then proposing five acts in order to supposedly "free the nation" (later called the Freedom Ammendments) which Zabëlle I would not be able to veto. The alleged ultimate goal was to instate Anarcho-Capitalism.
Elijah was found guilty, but with later investigation it was deemed that the plan was legal and constitutional. Elijah was Pardoned but was unable to participate in politics due to the secrecy of his and Janus's plan.
