Candidates
On the election, two politicians ran as presidential candidates. They were Tian Abdurrahman from state of Bobodolands and Rayhan Haikal from Cussex Region. The two candidates registered to the electoral commission. It was the first time that Indokistani presidential candidates did not hailed from Indokistan proper.
Incumbent president Mustafa Hakim was not eligible to run due to restriction on consecutive term.
Voters
On this election, the number of voters was only five, less than the voters in the previous election. Most voters concentrated in Central Indokistan, with three registered voters, followed by Bobodolands and Cussex Region, each with one voter.
On this election, the inactive state of Wirasena did not register any voters. Yet because the majority of Indokistani did register to vote, the election result remains legal despite only three states joined the election.
Campaign
Due to pressure from the National Forum to immediately held an election because of continuous delay from the initial date set on April 2013, the election was seen to be held hastily. The electoral commision decided 23 June as the first day of the election, just a week after the forum's decision to hold the election.
Consequently, the electoral commision only gave three days for candidates for their campaign to promote their programmes.
Presidential manifesto
By the precedent started in 2011, the electoral commision encouraged candidates to publish their presidential manifesto, locally known as "Presidential note" (Indonesian: Nota kepresidenan). The manifesto should include their vision and mission and proposed policies in all aspects in Indokistan.
On the election, only one candidate, Tian Abdurrahman, published his manifesto. As the manifesto was an informal requirement and no penalty was imposed on candidates who failed to publish their presidency note, Rayhan could retain his candidacy.
