The 2023 G16 Vishwamitra summit (Hindi: 2023 G16 विश्वामित्र शिखर सम्मेलन) was the first meeting of Group of Sixteen (G16) which was held virtually on 11 February 2023[1] and was hosted by Vishwamitra, who is also the pioneer and founder of G16.
Background
The idea to host a summit-level meeting of nations by initially proposed by Varuna Sriraya, the Rashtradhyaksh of Vishwamitra before the government of Vishwamitra in late 2022 in conjunction with the Crystal Jubilee celebrations of Vishwamitra. The plans to host the first G16 summit came into reality in late January 2023 after Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya's attending the Y20 Summit held under India's G20 presidency as a delegate.
Full plannings began immediately with cooperation from the Ministry of External Affairs which was tasked to contact the invited nations. Being the pioneer and founder of the grouping, the choice to invite the nations rested solely with the Government of Vishwamitra and accordingly invitations were sent to 20 nations, of which a few declined under numerous circumstances. The invitation sent to the Commonwealth of Dracul was not responded as the Office of the Chancellor followed a strict protocol for establishing contact with the Chancellor. The invitations sent to the Archduchy of Mimas, the Principality of Hélianthis, the Gymnasium State, the Kingdom of Manso and the Republic of Rino Island were declined as their respective heads of state and heads of government were unable to confirm their attendance due to various other priorities.
Logo
The official logo of the G16 summit was designed by Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya and was unveiled on 9 February 2023. It is highly based on the logo of the 2022 G20 Indonesia summit. The logo represented a hand with intricated Mehndi designs over a lotus flower. Mehndi is applied on hands by women in India as a traditionally and cultural gesture in all auspicious events including marriages and other ceremonies.
Agenda
As the host nation, Vishwamitra had set out various agenda for discussion at the summit. The topics were:
- sustainable growth and development
- future of micronationalism
- role of culture in micronationalism
- beyond micronationalism in the relations between the nations
Events
The task to plan the event was vested upon Arthur Lacey-Scott-FitzLacia, the Second Deputy Prime Minister of Vishwamitra, who along with his colleague Klarissa Sriraya, the First Deputy Prime Minister, were the official anchors and moderators of the event. In order to represent Vishwamitra's rich cultural and linguistic diversity and heritage, the moderation was carried out in the two official languages of Vishwamitra - English and Hindi. Arthur Lacey-Scott-FitzLacia moderated the event in English while Klarissa Sriraya presented the translation of the English version in Hindi.
The order of speakers was determined in the alphabetical order of the nations with Arsalania being the first and Zenrax being the last. Vishwamitra, being the host nation, was the final speaker. However, to avoid time zone differences and related problems, the order was amended to allow Lehmark and Imvrassia to be the first speakers, to be followed by the other in the alphabetical order.
The event began with the anchors presenting an inaugural speech with Farhaz Hazarika, the Prime Minister of Vishwamitra making a welcome address and thanking the delegates for their presence. Following the speech of the prime minister, the invited delegates presented their remarks. Several of the participant nations also make a presentation about their nation, culture, heritage and other traditions. The delegation from Upper Shwartz Morgen Lorgen Land spoke about micronationalism in Poland with a very detailed visual presentation, so did Pibocip about their ventures on social work. All the speakers spoke in English except for Albert, King of Queensland who spoke in Thai language and the translation to which was read out by Klarissa Sriraya.
At the end of the formal remarks, a plenary was hosted by Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya followed by a brief informal discussion between the attendees. Finally, Anoushkaa Patranabish, Rajpramukh of Basistha presented a vote of thanks on behalf of the Minister of External Affairs Rafe Burfield who had to cancel his presence at the meeting following a road accident.

Negative reactions
The only remark condoning the G16 summit was issued by Christina I, Summi Imperatoria of Cycoldia. In a statement issued on the summit, her office accused the host nation of stealing the macronational style of "G7" and that the host claimed for the grouping to be directly parallel to the macronationally existing super-powerful G7 alliance of nations. The statement, further read that the only reason behind issuing such a statement was to point out the present air of superiority surrounding several nations within the community at large. She also pointed that she could not change an already happened event but signed that the event showed a negative movement towards superiority or creation of an elite group.[12]
Her criticism was met by a statement from the Vishwamitran foreign ministry which stated the naming conventions of the group was based on the G20 as the idea to host such a summit was inspired from the macronational G20 presidency of India. Further, the invitations sent out the nations were solely on the prerogative of the government of Vishwamitra as all the invitees were close allies of Vishwamitra. Her statement also received criticism from several participant nations at the summit.
In addition to the criticism by the Summi Imperatoria of Cycoldia, the High King of Mediolaurentia refused the list of the invited nations after the High Kingdom of Mediolaurentia was not invited for the event. He criticised the government for not inviting Mediolaurentia and cited that the nation destined to be invited because of its large influence and huge citizen count.
Future events
At the end of the formal discussion at the first summit, the host, Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya, proposed before all the members of the first summit for hosting regular G16 summit-level meetings and for expanding the G16 family. The Kingdom of Baustralia which attended as a guest nation in the first summit expressed their strong desire to become a full member of the group. Lundenwic also proposed for the inclusion of the Empire of Adammia in the group but the proposal was not support following the reluctance of the first host, Vishwamitra. After the criticism by Christina, the Summi Imperatoria of Cycoldia, the Foreign Minister of Pibocip Phillip Joseph Pillin suggested to include Cycoldia as a member but his proposal was immediately opposed by Vishwamitra.
As of the future summits, both the Principality of Sancratosia and the Parliamentary Monarchy of Duckionary had expressed their interest in hosting the upcoming G16 summit. Sancratosia will host the 2024 Digi Micro Summit with the Democratic Republic of Satoshi and Duckionary is the host of the Micro Euro Summit 2023 with Obscurium.
