Conlang

A conlang, short for "constructed language", is a language deliberately crafted by humans, rather than by natural evolution. People create conlangs for many reasons, and the conlangs they create fall into several types. Some conlangs, like Esperanto, are widely used; but most are never learned to the point of fluency by anyone.
Typology
There are a number of typological systems used to categorize conlangs. One of the most-well-known deals with the origin of the language's components: a priori vs a posteriori, with the former referring to languages that were created from scratch, and the latter referring to languages that were created from pieces of other already-existing languages. Another typology relates to the intentions of and methodologies used by the conlang's creator(s): artlangs (artistic languages), engelangs (engineered languages), auxlangs (auxiliary languages), and so-on. Languages may (and often do) belong to more than one type in each system.
Conlangs may also be typologized along the same lines as natlangs (natural languages); for example: morphosyntactic alignment, head-directionality, animacy, et cetera.
Nomenclature
There is some contention among conlangers around the differences between the words "planned", "constructed", and "artificial". Proponents of some extremely a posteriori languages, like Interlingua and Latino sine Flexione, eschew the term "artificial", and prefer to think of their respective tongues as having been standardized, or "planned". Others eschew the use of the term "artificial", feeling that there is nothing "unnatural" about the use of their language(s) for human communication; on the other hand, some philosophers have argued that all human languages are artificial. "Constructed" is a more-general term without these such connotations, and it has accordingly become the standard term used to refer to the origins of human-created languages.
Micronational conlangs
The micronational world is home to a number of conlangs, information about which can be found in the following table; though, please note that this directory is non-exhaustive:
