Katie Fishman (formerly known as "Bin Stuord", "Net Vrokaw", "Ivan Abernathy", and various other aliases) is a former micronationalist, and was active in the micronational community from July 2010 to July 2015. She was born on April 13, 1998, making her 26 years of age. She is a state socialist, believes in social equality, and is isolationist. She is a transgender woman, though throughout her stint in micronationalism she presented as a male with masculine pronouns.
Founding of the Kingdom of Asermia
The idea to start a micronation originated from the book The Book of Lost States by Michael J. Trinklein which she received as a gift in April 2010. At the start of summer in early July, her interest in the book and its contents had peaked considerably, so she started creating a micronation. She had some experience from two prior micronations, Bermania and Simlia.
She came up with many preliminary names for the nation, such as Aciremai and Pocohontia, and she came up with different names for administrative divisions, such as Acrons. By the fourteenth, she declared sovereignty of the United Kingdom of Lost States (UKLS) from her uncle's home in Kalkaska County, Michigan. His first minister was her cousin Richard. In August, the UKLS claimed had about 85 states spanning across much of North America.
Great Intra-Layer Battle
From September 2010 to early February 2011, she and her friends, created a series of micronations (in retrospect primarily roleplayed in nature), in what we called a "layer" - an alternate Earth in which these were the only nations - simply called the Micronational Union. From January 29 to February 5, 2011, there was a small dispute (contemporarily referred to as a "war") between all their nations that is now known as the Great Intra-Layer War. After the dispute ended, there remained only three nations, and by May only Katie's nation remained. Thus begun the period known as the Isolation Period. On November 28, 2011, Katie renamed her nation the Union of Asermia.
Asermia-Grum dispute
The Isolation Period ended on December 5, 2011, when The Royal Kingdom of Galacia made an alliance with Asermia. The next day, the Democracy of Grum (now Grémmia) pointed out that Asermia claimed much of her and other micronations' territory. After a couple days of back-and-forth negotiations over Asermia's claims, the dispute ended on December 9, 2011.
Asermia-Smallia Dispute
The Asermia-Smallia dispute was a dispute with the Kingdom of Smallia over the British Isles. This dispute began on June 2, 2012, ending on July 31 when Asermia and Smallia signed a peace treaty. The dispute was marred with stubbornness and unfounded claims to land, with Katie, in hindsight, probably not understanding why Smallia took offense to her egregiously large claims.
The Republic of Hillsborough
In the week before the elections for Asermia, Katie thought of making another micronation. Katie set up an election for Asermia and resigned her post on July 21. That day she founded the Republic of Hillsborough and immediately joined the States of New Canada. The official independence date for Hillsborough was August 1.
Present Day
Since the Republic of Hillsborough Katie re-constructed her nation multiple times, renaming it various times under such names as the NFOR and the Huro-Atlantic Republic. Most recently she served as the Ijiv of the Ijivate of Rikuchar, which was slated to officially replace the Huro-Atlantic Republic in July 2015, on the 5th anniversary of the foundation of the original Union of Asermia. This was later pushed back to the following year, then scrapped altogether.
She now manages her own worldbuilding and conlanging site called the Rikutsaren Wikia.
