Ghurklas (pron.: [ɡyʁklas]) is a micronation made by Tvvd on the 20th of October, 2022. The micronation is situated in the flanders and the northern region of France, consisting of Lapanne, Dunkirk and its surroundings. Ghurklas is a constitutional monarchy that is led by King Tvvd I. The nation currently has two Marshalls, being Drnc and Raphaelh, who can choose a Vice-Marshall when he gets elected. The king, Tvvd, has all the rights to veto any of his decisions. To be elected as a Marshall, they must be named as a "Representative" by a party, and make that party win the elections.
Etymology
The name Ghurklas comes from the words Ghuro'je and Klasa, meaning "people's sea" referring to the English channel.
History
Pre-micronation
Tvvd first had the idea to make a micronation, after being inspired by the popular nation of Sealand. The nation first started as a minecraft project entitled the "Kingdom of Floppa" on the 15th of October, 2022. On the 16th of October, 2022, the name Ghurklas was decided upon.
Foundation of the micronation
The project later turned into a micronation the 20th of October, 2022. King Tvvd later merged the kingdom with Valandia under the Kingdom of Joeland. The union did not last that long and later dissolved. After dissolving the union with Valandia, Ghurklas became a constitutional monarchy and Valandia dissolved, with its leader forming the Socialist Ghurklasian Party (SGP). The Ghurklasian discord server was made on the 28th of October, 2022. Elections were held to elect the first Marshall of Ghurklas. Eventually a Ghurklasian nationalist named Mathew became Marshall, but the elections were reheld after some controversy and Louen, the leader of the Ghurklasian Democratic Republique Party (GDRP) was elected as marshall, and stayed in power under November 15th, 2022.
The civil war
In the start of 2023, a new party was created, the "nationalist party", who were actually fascists. The socialist party became peopleist, "a socialist ideology with more extra steps" as described by the party's leader. The 9th of January, 2023, new elections happened, this time IRL, Ghurklas's population was around 10 people (non-online). The democrats were supposed to win due to their enormous support compared to the other parties, however, the nationalist invited a lot of friends to the micronation to increase his popularity, leading to the party's election.
Under nationalist rule, Ghurklas became the "ghurklasian nationalist federation". The democrats were unhappy due to the change in politics, and the democratic leader Louen started to investigate, thinking the nationalist party won due to corruption. The democratic party started a civil war against the nationalists. The 14th of January, 2023, due to the king realizing SOHU was claiming the old turkish part of the kingdom of Joeland as ghurklasian land, the king forced them to declare independence, only then the name Valandia was created. The 17 January 2023, the GDR asked the king for the joining logs, after supplementary research, the GDR showed proves of corruption to the king. Making the GPR side with the GDR. The 18 January 2023, the nationalist leader abdicated.

Ghurklas was returned to Louen, and everything went back to normal, but, the democratic leader abdicated too, ending the chaos, and collapsing the GDR. Drnc was elected marshall of Ghurklas, as an individual and not a party, due to SOHU gaining independence earlier that month.
The king started to improve relations with a micronation called Schpecktenia and another called Aldonia. Schpecktenia invited Ghurklas to be part of the colonization of the Mille Lacs Lake. Susk became a puppet of Ghurklas at that time, to help them with their activities issues. Ghurklas got pretty much what they wanted out of the Mille Lacs, but a south chunck of what they wanted was unable to be annexed, so Ghurklas made it part of Susk and kept a little bit of the Land. Ghurklas made the colonies a puppet state, called the "Provisional Ghurklasian Government" also called "PGG" for short, and Ghurklas was made an empire and a new imperial flag was adopted.

Ghurklas didn't want to recognize Schpecktenia, due to their land consisting of uncontrolled land back then. Schpecktenia menaced Ghurklas of war if no recognition was given, Ghurklas said no, starting the Stare War (also called Mishap war) the 21 February 2023 The "war" wasn't recognized by the ghurklasian government as a real one, as the two side did not engage in combat or either mobilized, they were just staring at eachother (being the reason of the name), the 22 February 2023 Schpecktenia gave up on the conflict and PGG's northern colony expended.
Ghurklas stoped being an empire and soon gave up their colonies due to being not real claims the 3 March 2023
First collapse
Ghurklas was starting to fell, as they lost most of their influence in other micronations and allies. Drnc stop running in elections and marshall kept succeeding eachothers without even needing vote, just being marshall because they were the only wanting the job. The 21 April 2023 as no marshall were running for the election, the king did a fate-deciding vote, whether that the democracy should keep going, or to abolish elections and make Ghurklas a full monarchy, the Dunkirk referendum. The people voted 100% for the abolution of democracy due to the failure that it was.
Ghurklas reached an inactivity peak, with similarities from when it was just created, in a last effort it united with his puppet Susk the 4 August 2023, who was sharing the same language, as the "Micronational Confederation of Ghurklas and susk" also called "Ghurklasian federation" for short, due to the language being ghurklasian, and even being called "Potato Confederation" as a meme from the locals. With a flag using the old kingdom of Joeland flag, but reversed and with a crown to mark the monarchy. However, this failed, and with the collapse of Susk due to Inactivity, this marked a drastic end for Ghurklas.
The restart
The king came back, with a new idea, and better English. The 23 October 2023 Ghurklas became a puppet-state of Opstandia as a protectorate, adopting the new opstandian banner as a co-official flag and hosting a vote, if the democracy should be brought back. Most old citizens were against it or wanting a weak one, but with the new rush of opstandian citizens, democracy was back the 25 October 2023 with a revamped, easier system. The first elections happened and OPFG (Opstandian party for Ghurklas) were pretty close to losing to losing to the capitalist, but due to the capitalists lack of propaganda, all the votes they gained were just to not elect OPFG, and OPFG won by 1 vote the 26 October 2023. The 29 October 2023 a vote was hosted, if elections should either start the 25th of each months (due to the OPFG getting elected the 25 October 2023) or the 1th of each months. The 1th of each months won.
The 30 October 2023, Ghurklas made an alliance with the Oakforvian Empire, calmed their relation with Schpecktenia, and started to make back foreign relations.
The 21 November 2023, The protector ruling Ghurklas abdicated, and Ghurklas was made free from Opstandia. The Opstandian banner, being the co-official flag, was removed
Politics and government
The government is led by Tvvd, his official title is "Kaezeur"[1]. Ghurklas's government is called "Ghurklas'e Naþioneno Ovrat" (Ghurklas's National Council) there is currently 7 members: Leroihelios, Eli, Asa (Former), Angulator of the Phi Empire, Yesten, Kaiser Cosmin (former), leader of Oakforvia, Tvvd and Steven (Duke of Lüodingosch).
The government has a subdivision called "Ghurklas'e Naþioneno Estety de Jazak"[2], or GNEJ for short, which regulates the Ghurklasian language

Culture
Ghurklas's official language is Ghurklasian, but the regional language are french and dutch. However no citizens actually speak dutch and it's rare to have a citizen speaking ghurklasian.
