Jimbo's Gym was a fitness centre and health club located on ǃkhās Street, in the city of Új Repülő, capital of the erstwhile Principality of New Eiffel. The only gym in the principality, it offered strength training, weight training and also fitness sports, such as boxing, cycling and rugbull. Opened on 24 August 2020, the centre was semidetached with New Eiffel School, and possessed the Mail Code 003-FO. The building had previously been owned by self-storage company Storage for You! between August 2018 and 5 May 2019, under the Mail Code 003-AA. After the dissolution of New Eiffel on 1 November 2020, the Gym remained active until being disestablished on 10 August 2021.

Description

Jimbo's Gym was located on ǃkhās Street, a major street in the city of Új Repülő, capital of the erstwhile Principality of New Eiffel. It possessed the Mail Code 003-FO as assigned by His Royal Mail Service of New Eiffel. The building Jimbo's Gym was formerly located in, 14.8 square metres in size—and shaped like a near-perfect square—was semidetached with New Eiffel School (003-AT). The room was fully insulated and electrified, and had a wooden interior as well as exterior. The exterior was painted grey with an orange painted window frame surrounding the location's only window. There was one door located at the south side (front) of the building. The roof—completely flat—extended approximately fifteen inches southwards; it extended as much as a metre (39 inches) westwards, and the floor below at Walkway Alley acted as an outside storage area as formerly utilised by Storage for You! when it owned the building.

History

Construction of the building, 23 April 2017

Plans for a building to fill the need for a storage area, personal office and place of education had existed since as late as 2015. The Main Building in New Leeds did not posses enough space to facilitate the materials needed. Preparations for construction ultimately began in early to mid-June 2016, which consisted mostly of levelling the site and removing weeds. Concrete slabs were added by 29 August to serve as the foundation, followed by the addition of the I-beams by 22 December, the frames of the foundation floor, walls, roof and windows between 25–28 April 2017. Throughout May, the building was electrified and the flooring was finished, as was the insulation on the roof between 5–25 June. By 9 July, furniture had began to be moved in, and the building was fully furnished by at least August.

In early 2018, the self-storage company Storage for You! purchased the room. In late April 2019, George Smith and Zabëlle Skye revealed plans to turn the building into a fitness centre, originally under the name of New Eiffel Gym. Storage for You! agreed with this plan and finalised the deal on 5 May, although the storage items were not moved out of the building until March 2020. The addition of Fitness equipment was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the equipment was finally moved in on 22 August. That same day, the name Jimbo's Gym was chosen for the fitness centre instead. Jimbo's Gym formally opened on 24 August, and introduced fitness sports in September. After the dissolution of New Eiffel on 1 November, the Gym remained active until being disestablished on 10 August 2021.

Equipment

Jimbo's Gym offered strength training, weight training and also fitness sports, such as boxing, cycling and rugbull. Amenities included an adjustable dumbbell set, chest fly machine, lat pull down machine, stationary Peloton Interactive bicycle and a machine for pull-ups and suspended leg raises. Rugbull was played on the titular Rugbull Field. The mascot and namesake of the gym was Jimbo, a fictional bodybuilder who does not use, and disapproved of, anabolic steroids. In August 2020 just after opening, Jimbo's Gym released several humorous advertisements encouraging exercising at the fitness centre.
