The Seneschal of Rai is the head of government of the Abeldane federal state of Rai. The Seneschal may be appointed and dismissed at the discretion of the Rai monarch. The office is currently vacant, following the resignation of Ashley Jaax on 2 January 2021. Jaax was appointed to the position on 6 March 2020 to replace Karl Friedrich.

The office of the Seneschal is described in the Charter of Rai, which states that "the Grand Duke of Rai may delegate Their grand ducal prerogative onto an individual, who must be a citizen of Rai, to oversee menial tasks of governance in the Grand Duke’s name". The Charter also states that the Seneschal's authority may never supersede or contradict that of the Grand Duke, as it is from the Grand Duke that this authority primordially stems.[1]
