Hector, Prince Royal (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 10 September 2011) is the heir presumptive to the throne of Ebenthal. He is King Arthur II's nephew through the latter's older sister, Princess Élida. He became Prince Royal upon his mother's renunciation of her dynastic rights at the monarch's request. Unlike his mother, Hector is actively engaged on his micronational royal duties under his uncle's tutelage, partaking in the speeches from the throne and representing the monarch in family events when he is absent.
Biography
Early life and education
Prince Hector was born in Rio de Janeiro, the only son of Élida van der Bruyn, then a Princess of Roschfallen, to Felipe Moreira, both respectively the leading ballet dancers at the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro. By his mother's side, he is King Arthur II of Ebenthal's second nephew as well as Armando, 5th Baron of Roches's second grandson. He was baptized at the Church of Saint Jude the Apostle, having as godparents his aunt, Princess Louise, and Mr. Alexandre Moraes, a friend of the family.
From an early age, Prince Hector enrolled at the Applicated College Ao Cubo in the Rio de Janeiro neighbourhood of Laranjeiras, bordering Malmünd, where he lives at the Central Hill Palace. Very active, the Prince is a swimmer and is an orange belt in karate, and has an intermediate level of English.
Micronationalism
Heir to the Ebenthaler throne
In February 2021, during a private festivity at the Central Hill Palace, King Arthur II asked Prince Hector if he was interested in take an active role in the Ebenthaler monarchy's day-to-day affairs, as the young prince is very interested in geopolitical-related stuff such as maps and flags, to which he accepted. The monarch, however, already planned for the prince to become his apparent heir. Later that year, in 11 April, Princess Élida, Hector's mother, renounced her dynastical rights as asked and instructed by her brother, the King. She was by then titled Princess of Erzfelsen, a title which was returned to the then-Erzfelsian subnational monarchy.[1] Hector succeeded her with the initial title of Prince of Bruges, after the House of Bruyn's original birthplace.[2] The title, however, was soon changed to the neutral Prince Royal, which was incorporated to the country's constitution through a Royal Edict. Upon Hector's ascension as heir to the Ebenthaler throne, the parliament convened to recognize his new position and take his oath.
