Biography

Early life

Princess Louise was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 1984, as the second daughter of the then fidalgo Armando van der Bruyn to his first wife, Wanda da Costa, both aged 23 when she was born. Through her father, she is a member of the House of Bruyn, a Dutch-Portuguese family whose ancestry goes back to the nobility of Scotland and the Holy Roman Empire. She is great-great-great-great-granddaughter of King Victor Emmanuel II of Italy through an illegitimate line through her father's mother.

Education and career

Louise began her studies at the St. Ignatius College in Rio de Janeiro where she graduated. She later graduated in pedagogy from Unileya University, but never practiced the profession. Instead, she got her brokerage record and works as a realtor in the firm of her brother-in-law Prince Vinicius, husband of her sister the Princess Elaine.
