Cristian Dobrev, commonly known mononymously as Cristi, is a Romanian micronational politician and journalist, the founder and current head of state of Plushunia, having served as its President since its foundation in October 2017, while also being currently the only foreign representative of the country (serving as Prince-Elector of Plushunia within the Holy Roman Empire and as the nation's only delegate in the GUM) and being credited with most of the nation's diplomatic developments and achievements despite not being very involved within its internal politics.

Aside from Plushunia, Dobrev is involved in multiple other micronations, being a Burgess at-large in the Canton of the Roanoke, the President of the National Bank and the Campaign Manager of the National Party in New Virginia, a member of Royalist Party of Essexia, of the Conservative Party of Naveria and of the Deer Party of Wegmat, the former leader of the Shrek Super Party of New Eiffel and the current leader of the Democratic Liberal Party of Ponderosa Hills. He also serves as Naveria's Ambassador to Romania, as a member of the Weg Parliament and is one of the founders and the Bishop of Plushunia in the Bobist Church.

In terms of intermicronational affairs, Dobrev is one of the two leaders of Help Joining the GUM, his most-known intermicronational project, and has played a key role in establishing the Plush Nation Cooperation Union, having served as President of The Council of the said organisation, while also having briefly served as the last Deputy Secretary General of the Organisation of Active Micronations (2019). He is also known for being the editor of the Plushunian News Service, a widely appreciated online news service known for its lenghty and detailed articles. A New Guard micronationalist, he has been nominated for Micronationalist of the Month in November 2019, and is a Patron of both Micropolitan@Discord and the Micropolitan Club and Lounge VI.

Micronational career

Dobrev first became interested in micronationalism in early 2017, after accidentally discovering Molossia and Sealand while browsing Wikipedia. He liked the concept from the beginning, and soon discovered MicroWiki while reading about Austenasia. A few weeks later, he discovered Juclandia on MicroWiki, and, inspired by the "plush nation" concept created by Juclandia, he decided to found his very own plush nation, Plushunia, in late 2017, with him serving as its President. However, he only made his first appearance within the community in July 2018, when he joined MicroWiki and become the nation's first foreign representative, opening Plushunia's first diplomatic ties with fellow plush nations Juclandia and Sabia and Verona. Later that month, the Plushunian News Service was founded.

His first entry within the community was however a short one, Cristian being descouraged by the lack of activity within the MicroWiki community at the time and departing from it indefinitely and focusing more on Plushunia's internal affairs. However, in July 2019, he decided to return, and instead of the inactivity he found a highly vibrant community, now focused around the MicroWiki@Discord server. Soon, Dobrev started engaging in diplomacy and regular contact with other micronationalists, and managed to have Plushunia join the Organisation of Active Micronations, the Micronational Olympic Federation, the Holy Roman Empire and the Grand Unified Micronational. During the same period, Dobrev become one of the two leaders of Help Joining the GUM, and contributed greatly to the said organisation, which aided multiple nations such as Aenopia, Lytera and Wegmat to become members of the GUM, while also establishing the Plushunian News Service as a high-quality and appreciated newspaper.

However, personal and technical issues led to Cristian's dissappearance from the micronational community in September 2019, Plushunia continuing to be internally active though. He briefly returned in December 2019, when he endorsed Dionisiy Tezdzhan-Smahin's unsuccessful candidacy for GUM Chairmanship, only to vanish again in January. Although he continued to sporadically edit on MicroWiki and write news articles during the next months, he only made a full return to Discord in October 2020.
