Elections for 6 out of the 7 Mayor seats in Plushunia were held on 28 June and 5 May 2020. The election used a two-round first-past-the-post system, and resulted in a landslide victory of the Democratic Liberal Party and of the PNL + PNȚCD + PC Alliance, the two parties winning 3 seats each out of the 6 which were contested in the election. No other party managed to win seats, this election being known as the most important electoral defeat for the Social Democratic Party, which only won 18.6% of the popular vote and no Mayor seats, an all-time low for the party.

  1. Gained one seat following the merger with the Liberal Democratic Party
  2. Lost a seat in January 2020 after New Plușeni mayor formed a new party
  3. One of the Democratic Party's seats was not contested in this election
