The King of Imruland is the constitutional head of state of the Kingdom of Imruland. The King usually does not attend in any ceremonial roles. All of the roles of the King are done usually by the Governor, his representative. The current King is King Imrul I, who ascended the throne on 23 December 2022 after the turning of the country from republic to constitutional monarchy.

History

The monarchy was established on 23 December 2022 by transforming of the Republic of Imruland to the Republic Kingdom of Imruland. On this day, President Imrul Kayes declared the end of one-man republic in Imruland and declared a constitutional monarchy. He proclaimed himself as the King and took his name Imrul I. Showib Ahmmed was appointed as the regent aka representative of him.

Powers

Currently, the King is the ceremonial head of state of Imruland and has not so power in the constitution. All powers of the King are given to the Governor. The King is the supreme commander of the Imruland Armed Force. He can declare military operation against any country. He is not responsible to anyone for his actions and no one can raise any questions about his ability or age. The King stands above all existing state laws. So no case can be filed against him in any court of Imruland. He can waive or delay any verdict granted by any court, tribunal or other authority. The King appoints the Governor. He also appoints the Prime Minister on the advice of the Constitution Drafting Committee led by the Governor.

Crown Prince

The Crown Prince is the de facto heir apparent of the King of Imruland. He is first in the line of succession. Though there is no definition of Crown Prince in the constitution, he is considered an important figure in Imruland. The post of Crown Prince is not mentioned in the constitution and the order of precedence. The current Crown Prince is Prince Shohayb, the only son of King Imrul I.

The Consort is the spouse of the King of Imruland. She can be made acting Monarch if the King dies before the ability of Crown Prince to become King. Though there is no definition of Consort in constitution, she is considered an important figure in Imruland. The post of Consort is not mentioned in the constitution and the order of precedence. The current Consort is Queen Rubaiya, the only spouse of King Imrul I.

The heir apparent of the King is styled His Royal Highness The Crown Prince of Imruland. Other members of the royal family are styled His/Her Royal Highness.

Succession

The official succession rules for the King haven't been fully outlined. However, the Crown Prince is first in the line of succession. The Governor or the Queen-consort can be appointed as acting Monarch if the King dies before the ability for succession of the Crown Prince.
