Imruland National Party (abbr. as INP) was an Imrulian political party established by Shams Chomsky Rafi during the 2022 political crisis. The party was firstly banned by the government of Imruland on the allegation of conspiracy against Imruland. Later on, the ban was lifted after an agreement between INP and the government.

History

Imruland National Party was founded on 14 November 2022. Before that day, the founder Shams Chomsky Rafi resigned on a televised speech that resulted the 2022 political crisis. Vice President Showib Ahmmed declared a state of emergency for an indefinite period. The party was formed to overthrow the government and to make a public opinion in favour of Shams Chomsky Rafi. The motto of the party was Chetonay Bashotti (Sixty-two in consciousness). 62 was the previous jersey number of President Imrul Kayes who later became the King of Imruland. Prominent public figure including Public Administration Minister Fokhrul Sazzad, Deputy Speaker Firoz Ahmed joined with the party. The government banned the party and declared all the party member as rebel and conspirator on 15 November 2022. Vice President Showib Ahmmed ordered the Imruland Armed Force to arrest all the members of the party from wherever they could be found. He requested the people of Imruland to inform the government if they see them anywhere in the country.

Opposition party of parliament

The ban was lifted on 17 November 2022 after an agreement between INP and the government. The party chairman Shams Chomsky Rafi apologized for his action. The party was given the status of opposition party of the Parliament of Imruland. Shams Chomsky Rafi was appointed as the Leader of the Opposition in the rank and status of a cabinet minister. General Secretary Abdullah Al Noman was appointed as the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the rank and status of a state minister. Acting Chariman and former Public Administration Minister Fokhrul Sazzad was appointed as the Opposition Chief Whip. As a surprise, Vice Chariman Firoz Ahmed was appointed as the deputy speaker of the Parliament of Imruland.

Leader of the Opposition was the leader of the opposition party of the Parliament of Imruland. After an agreement between INP and the government, Imruland National Party was recognized as the official opposition party of Imruland on 17 November 2022 and chairman Shams Chomsky Rafi was appointed as the Leader of the Opposition. The post had the rank of a cabinet minister. The post was dissolved two days later when the Imruland Intelligence Agency (IIA) revealed a coup planning. The first leader of the opposition was Sadia Islam. She was appointed unofficially on 17 July 2022 and served for two days. She was succeeded by Tanjid Adnan. The first and only official leader of the opposition was Shams Chomsky Rafi.

Dissolution

INP was dissolved on 19 November 2022 when it was revealed by the Imruland Intelligence Agency (IIA) that the party chairman and members were conspiring to overthrow the government even with the status of a opposition party. They were planned to stage a coup d'état. After much investigation, Vice President Showib Ahmmed took over the status of opposition party and exiled Shams Chomsky Rafi. Rafi then dissolved the party on the same day.
