Crisis & Movement |
The Zareef Ministry, the 5th cabinet of Imruland, was the first government led by an elected Prime Minister Safat Zareef Hassan. It was established following the 2023 Imruland President Election and the 2023 Imruland political crisis. The election was arranged on 10 June 2023 but the power was transferred on 28 July due to the crisis.
Background
Safat Zareef Hassan won the 2023 Imruland President Election on 10 June 2023 but the election result was boycotted by the losing candidate MD Nazmul Hasan Fahim and his supporters. They attacked the Parliament of Imruland that led to the 2023 Imruland political crisis. The constitution was amended during this crisis and the posts of President and Vice President were abolished. A new type of government led by prime minister instead of president was installed. The election winner Zareef was appointed as the Prime Minister of Imruland on 28 July 2023.
