After his election, as head of government, Babou Chkaya made up his team. Before the election, Esquerra! had concluded an agreement with the PIP. If this coalition won, the leader of the PIP, Juan Cisneros would become Minister of Medias and Telecommunications. Lorena Serantes, as leader of an allied party, the Communist-Galician Nationalist Party received a ministerial post. Chkaya also wanted that the opposition has a dedicated ministry. The second party of the last elections being the Pablistas Union, he received it. On August 17, 2017 Chkaya nnounces the resignation of the government in order to "purge it of the inactive elements".

President

The Government of the Popular Union of Occitania is governed by the president of the union who was elected by the Vergadering. It chooses all the ministers and creates the governmental agencies. The only minister he does not appoint is the minister in charge of the Catalan minority who is traditionally the president of the Republic of Three Flowers.
