Star Warz: Episode I - The Second to Last Jed-Eye (formerly titled Star Warz: Episode I - The 2nd to Last Jed Eye) is a 2018 New Finlandic New Eiffelic space-opera parody film, and first instalment into the Star Warz film franchise, and first film in the Star Warz main trilogy of the "Pawn Cho series". The film takes place in a year called 3 BBJ.
Z&jProductions' Zarel and Janus Smith both produced, created and stared in the film. Being a parody of Star Wars, with the titled parodying Star Wars' The Last Jedi, the film follows the near extinction of the Jed-Eye (parody of the Jedi), after being hunted down by the Sith.
The film was released on 25 January 2018, being Z&jProductions' film film of the year, and the first film to be released in a New Eiffelic predecessor, the Republic of New Finland. The film had an estimated budget of only £15, which was low even by Z&jProductions' standards. The film was revolutionary for its time in New Eiffelic cinema, being praised for its use of props and costume designs, as well as its special effects, however it was heavily criticised by critics for its poor storyline and cinematography.
There are only four Jed-Eye remaining, and as one of them has turned to the dark side and joined the Sith, the remaining three, along with their respected armies, must try to stop him from stealing the Jed-Eye code, which gives access to supreme weaponry.
The film introduces several characters, including three Jed-Eyes, a Sith, and various military and government personnel. All characters were portrayed by either Janus or Zarel Smith.
Filming took place over a week. The film had an estimated budget of only £15. Two lightsaber props were used, and the film was also praised for its good costume designing. The film was filmed in 720p, which was standard for Z&jProductions films at that time. Sound effects and sound mixing was done later in iMovie. After a delayed release, the film was finally ready to be screened on 25 January 2018.
