Political views
Saint-Castin and Sancratosia share many socio-cultural elements and have similar goals. As such, they share many general political views.
Since the main delegates of both nations are also citizens of Canada they each have views on many topics relating to Canadian and Quebec politics, sharing many similarities sometimes with some minor differences.
Human rights
Saint-Castin and Sancratosia are strong supporters of human rights. For instance, both nations are signatories of the Augusta Accord, an international treaty against micronational transphobia and for the protection of transgender and nonbinary micronationalists. Both nations have a negative view of micronations which act against the general principles of human rights and their protection.
Promotion of French
Dominic and Cloe, main delegates of their respective nations, each have French as first language and more specifically Quebec French. They both promote the use of French in their daily activities. Sancratosia differs with its promotion of Lingua Franca Nova, notably on social media, and for having its official website only in English where Saint-Castin offers a bilingual French-English website and promotes the usage of indigenous languages.
Indigenous rights
Both delegations believe in the rights of indigenous peoples in Canada and Quebec. Saint-Castin has recognized many indigenous languages as their regional languages and promotes the use of these languages in the nation. Sancratosia has no official policy on the use of indigenous languages.
Independence of Quebec
Both delegates recognize the right of the Province of Quebec to legally secede from Canada and become a sovereign nation in its own right. Their main differences on the topic are the political parties the main delegates support and the preferred means to obtain independence.
Statements
Saint-Castin
It is an honour to officialize our relations with a micronation close to our values and with a bright future ahead. This treaty opens the door to shared projects in the future.[2]
— Dominic Desaintes, 21 January 2023
Sancratosia
Signing a treaty with the Newgraviate of Saint-Castin, a well-established and respected nation is definitely beneficial for Sancratosia. More than that however, it strengthens the friendship established by our two nations over the course of the past year. I’m looking forward to further collaborations with Saint-Castin.[3]
— Princess Cloe, 21 January 2023
