The Borean Community is a North American international organization of micronations founded upon the common values of anti-fascism, the right to self-determination of oppressed nations, peaceful cooperation among North American micronations, and the protection of human rights and solidarity with oppressed peoples[1]. As a North American organisation, its three official languages are English, French, and Spanish, while all members' languages are considered permissible. The Community has its roots in discussions beginning in early 2019 between the State of Sandus's Sôgmô Gaius Soergel Publicola, the Kingdom of Überstadt's King Adam I, and Minister-President Dominic Desaintes of the Newgraviate of Saint-Castin. The basis of the community was formed when all three met during MicroCon 2019 and discussed their concerns about the rise in fascism in North America.

Organization

The community has a rotating presidency that is based on seniority. The country that possesses the presidency designates an individual who serves as the community's president who oversees the community's business, drafts and presides over meetings, and who may act as an arbiter among members of the community. Terms begin and end on 12 October each year. The presidency is currently held by Sandus and Jacob Barnet serves as the president of the Borean Community.

Meetings must occur at least once a year and focus on a particular agenda item. In 2020-2021, the Sandum presidency listed as its agenda:

  • Indigenous Rights and Sovereignty
  • Anti-Fascism
  • Food Security
  • Climate Change
  • Rural-Urban Reconciliation

Members

The Borean Community has six members, including the three original authors of the community's charter, Sandus, Überstadt, and Saint-Castin. They are, in order of their joining the community:
