Duchess Maria I International Airport (Lingua Franca Nova: Airoporto internasional Duxesa Maria I) (IATA (planned): SAI, ICAO (planned): CSAI), colloquially called SAI Sancratosia International, is the international passenger airport in the symbolic territory of Sancratosia. Located in the Altia Maria district, it serves as an administrative entity responsible to the Ministry of Territory under the Department of Transportation and is the home base for Sancratosia's flag carrier, Cuatrida Airlines.

History

Establishment

Due to the limited size of the airport within the symbolic territory of Sancratosia, the Principality operates virtually through the Montréal–Mirabel International Airport, located in Mirabel, Canada, 21 nautical miles (39 km; 24 mi) northwest of Montreal. Although physically closer to Montréal–Trudeau International Airport, Montréal–Mirabel was selected as the virtual airport for Sancratosia, a decision influenced by Princess Cloe's past experience piloting a Cessna 172 from Mascouche to Mirabel.[a]

Nomenclature

Starting on 1 December 2023, following the establishment of its ceremonial territorial claim, Sancratosia's airport adopted different names internally to distinguish runway usage. The name "Sancratosia-SAI" is used for the landing strip within the territory, while "Sancratosia-YMX" is used when referring to the Montréal–Mirabel runway.

Airlines and destinations

Cuatrida Airlines, the virtual flag carrier of Sancratosia, operates its main hub at Sancratosia International, with its headquarters located at the airport.
