The National budgets of Sancratosia are annual financial plans presented by the Government Council of Sancratosia to outline projected expenditures and revenues for the Principality. According to the Constitution, the proposed budget law must be submitted to the National Council before 30 September, and the law must be adopted before 31 December of the same year.

Budget process

The budget process begins with the Minister of Finances presenting a proposed law in the National Council. The budget undergoes chapter-by-chapter voting by the National Council. If the budget is not adopted before 31 December, expenditures related to services can be authorized by Sovereign Ordinance, following a State Council hearing. The same procedure applies to revenues and expenses arising from international treaties.

The budget proposed in autumn is commonly referred to as the bujeta primitiva (English: Primitive Budget). A budget revision typically occurs before 30 June, known as the bujeta revisa (English: Revised Budget).

Sancratosia's fiscal year spans from 1 January to 31 December.

National budgets

2023

The primitive budget for the fiscal year 2023 was initially submitted on 30 September 2022, reflecting an overall expense increase of 37.7% compared to 2022. However, the adopted version saw this increase adjusted to 50.5%. This marked the Principality's first officially submitted budget, following previous temporary financial arrangements during its establishment phase, which necessitated significant investments. The budget was presented with a balanced approach, heavily supplemented by contributions from the Sovereign Princess.
