Dominic Desaintes (born 6 September 1987 (1987-09-06)) is a Canadian-born Castinian politician who has served as Minister-President of Saint-Castin since 2015 and Secretary General of the MicroFrancophonie since 2022. He is also the leader of the Castinian Labour Party, formed from the merger of the Progressive Party - Unionists and the Left in 2016.

Desaintes was born in Chicoutimi, Canada and is the co-founder of the Newgraviate of Saint-Castin.

When Saint-Castin became an autonomous province within the Federal Republic of St.Charlie, Dominic Desaintes engaged in St. Charlian politics . He served as Minister of Education, Culture and Sport from 2014 to 2015.

In 2015, he co-founded the MicroFrancophonie and served as Deputy Secretary General for Political and External Affairs and Deputy Secretary General for Communications. He has been the Secretary General of the organization since 2022.

In 2022, he oversaw the establishment of the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union with the Principality of Beremagne and the subsequent transformation of the Union with the Principality of Sancratosia.

Desaintes is considered to be a prominent micronationalist especially within the French-speaking community.

Micronational career

Desaintes's micronational career started with the establishment of the Saint-Castin in 2014. He has also been involved within the Federal Republic of St. Charlie and the MicroFrancophonie.

Federal Republic of St. Charlie

With the incorporation of Saint-Castin as an autonomous province within the Federal Republic of St. Charlie, Dominic Desaintes found himself intricately immersed in the realm of St. Charlian politics. Within this political landscape, Desaintes played an active role within the Progressive Party - Unionists faction, especially as a Member of Parliament.

From 2014 to 2015, Desaintes assumed the position of Minister of Education, Culture, and Sport of St. Charlie.

During that time, Desaintes also assumed the position of Governor of the Autonomous Province of Saint-Castin.

Newgraviate of Saint-Castin

On 1 August 2015 (2015-08-01), Dominic Desaintes assumed the position of Minister-President of Saint-Castin, a position that he still holds today.

During the transformative period of the Appalacho-Laurentian Republic, Desaintes assumed a pivotal role as the head of the provisional government, guiding Saint-Castin through a time of dynamic change and intricate negotiations.

Under Desaintes' leadership, the Newgraviate of Saint-Castin underwent transformative changes, from republic to monarchy and the establishment of a parliamentary constitutional monarchy.

During his tenure, Saint-Castin enjoyed some good intermicronational relations. Desaintes co-founded the MicroFrancophonie, joined the Conference of Santiago and co-established the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union.

French-speaking community

MicroFrancophonie

In 2015, Dominic Desaintes co-founded the MicroFrancophonie and has since played a pivotal role in the growth of the organization.

His partnership with Prince Jean-Pierre IV of Aigues-Mortes laid the groundwork for the foundation of the organization. As a representative of a co-founding member state, Desaintes enjoys a permanent seat on one of the organization's institution, the Council.

He assumed the positions of Deputy Secretary General for Political and External Affairs from May 2015 to April 2017 and of Deputy Secretary General for Communications Design from April 2017 to May 2023. In 2022, he was elected to the position of Secretary General.

Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union

In 2022, Desaintes oversaw the establishment of the Laurentian Micronational Cooperative Union with the Principality of Beremagne. He oversaw the design of the common currency, the "Piastre" and the development of the Union. In 2023, he participated in the transformation of the Union and the integration of the Principality of Sancratosia in the organization.

Micronational meetings

Desaintes is one of the few micronationalists to have attended multiple in-person micronational meetings.

He attended MicroCon 4 times, in Atlanta (2017), Hamilton (2019), Las Vegas (2022) and Ypres (2023). He attended most MicroFrancophonie summits and meetings and some Golden Bucket Galas in Aigues-Mortes.
