The Minister of Culture (Hindi: संस्कृति मंत्री) is a minister of the cabinet of Vishwamitra and the head of the Ministry of Culture in the government of Vishwamitra. The position was created following the creation of the "Ministry of Culture" on 2 October 2015 succeeding the Ministry of Education and Varuna Sriraya was appointed as the first minister in the first ministry of prime minister Tanishkaa Patranabish. The current minister is Ezekiel Ensor who has been in office since 3 October 2024, who holds the rank as minister of state (independent charge).
The Minister of Culture is assisted by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Culture.
History of office
The Ministry of Culture has undergone several changes since its creation in 2015. On several occasions, the ministry was merged with other ministries to constitute a new ministry and became a department within the new ministry. Thus, the ministerial title has undergone several changes:
