The Coalition of United Micronations (abbr. CUM), is a regional micronational organization which aims at promoting micronationalism in New Zealand. It is led by the Ultra Democratic Republic of Referendums and Taurstan Anarchist Federation. It was founded on 28 January 2021 but it never really started operating until 2022. As for the time being the CUM has three major organs, the General Assembly of the Coalition of United Micronations, Coalition of Micronations Court of Criminal Justice and the Organisation of Democratic Territories.

The CUM was the largest intermicronational organization in Tauranga and New Zealand. Because of its size the group had been the target of many wars and conflicts, these have been the Commonwealth-Empire War and Inter Coalition War. Today the Coalition has been surpassed by the United Micronations Treaty Alliance and its affiliate organisations. It is also seen as a dying influential power in the Tauranga Sector and New Zealand micro national politics.

History

The idea for the Tauranga Commonwealth of Micronations, now known as the Coalition of United Micronations came about in 2020 after the First President of the Arstotzkan Union wished to promote micronationalism in Tauranga and aid in the creation of more micronational states. In April 2020, the foundation of a "Commonwealth of Tauranga Micro-Nations" became a policy of the United Government Alliance moving into the election. However the idea wasn't really acted on until 2021 in which the first General Assembly of the newly named Tauranga Commonwealth of Micronations was given the green light. Major steps were made and a location was set for the first session of the General Assembly however due to COVID-19 the session was cancelled and the TCM was nearly lost until 2022.

In July 2022 the First President of the Arstotzkan Union announced the Tauranga Commonwealth of Micronations would be formed and on 2 August 2022 the first session was announced to take place the next day.

On 3 August 2022, the first session of the General Assembly of the TCM took place and Resolution 01 was passed which established the new membership of the TCM.

During the fourth session of the General Assembly, the TCM was the victim of a cyber attack from the Empire of Him, a rouge micronation, which then led to the adoption of Resolution 07 of the General Assembly and the TCM declared war on the Empire beginning the Commonwealth - Empire War.

On 26 October 2022, the first Secretary General, Ethan Brinkman retired and in his last act helped sign a peace deal with the Empire ending the months long war. In his place was the elected, Election Leader Tristen. Who also served as the deputy chairman and founder of the Organisation of Democratic Territories.

On the 1 January 2023, Secretary General Tristen renamed the previous Tauranga Commonwealth of Micronations to the Coalition of United Micronations.

Several months later on 24 October 2023, the previous Secretary General of the CUM, Election Leader Tristen stepped down from his position and announced that "A temporary Committee run by the respective leader of each Micronation present shall run the CUM [...]."
