Association of British Micronations

The Association of British Micronations, or ABM, is an intermicronational organisation for micronations based primarily in Great Britain.[1] Its primary purpose will be to organise an annual micronational summit in the United Kingdom.[1]
The treaty creating the organisation was signed on 4 October 2023 by delegations of the Empire of Austenasia and the Empire of Adammia at a summit of their leaders, Jonathan I, Emperor of Austenasia, and Adam I, Emperor of Adammia.[2][3] While not present at that summit, the organisation claims Lundenwic as a founder of the organisation will "have the opportunity to add its signature in the near future".[2]
The organisation is not currently accepting new membership. The organisation intends to start accepting new members in January 2024.[1]
Background
The creation of the ABM comes amid a warming of relations between Adammia and Austenasia. In 2019, the Austenasian government recognised Adam I's claim to imperial rank,[4] in 2022 Emperor Adam was present as a groomsman at the Imperial Wedding of Jonathan I to Hannah, Empress of Austenasia,[5] and at the summit creating the ABM, Adammia became one of only three nations to enter diplomatic relations with Empress Hannah's Principality of Wildflower Meadows.[3]
Structure
In the press release announcing the ABM's creation, the organisation distinguishes itself from "general-purpose" organisations such as the Grand Unified Micronational.[1] Instead of having a legislative body such as the GUM's Quorum of Delegates, the organisation would be governed by a board of trustees, with permanent seats for Austenasia, Adammia and Lundenwic as founders of the group. The board of trustees is chaired by a President, currently Adammic Emperor Adam I, who will rotate out provisionally in summer of 2024 after the projected date of the first ABM summit.[1]
