The Commonwealth Defense Region (CDR) was an area of Tauranga City administered by the Tauranga Commonwealth of Micronations. The CDR had its roots in the CRDP (Commonwealth Regional Defense Project), which was a proposed regional defence initiative lead by the Tauranga Allied Micronational Treaty Organization and the Joint Allied Response Defense Battalion. The region was founded on 31 August 2022, following the Fifth Session of the General Assembly of the Tauranga Commonwealth of Micronations.
The job of the CDR was to act as a unilateral defensive region for against the Empire of Him and to protect micronations in the area. At its peak the CDR was 7.05km2, in a special meeting of the Commonwealth Regional Security Commission, between the Ward Empire and Arstotzkan Union, a proposed expansion was drafted to be created which would be 55.01km2.

History
The Commonwealth Defense Region was formed from the Commonwealth Defense Region Project (CDRP). It was decided by the Ward Empire and Arstotzkan Union that a region of complete Commonwealth control was needed and following the Fifth Session of the General Assembly the CDR was created.
Battle of the Point
On 31 August 2022, Supreme Emperor Ben Ward of the Ward Empire, claimed a victory at the Commonwealth Joint Army Forward Operations Base and allowed for an expansion of the CDR.
Proposed Expansion
In a meeting of the Commonwealth Regional Security Commission, Ben Ward and Ethan Brinkman agreed that an expansion of the CDR was necessary to combat the fall of Philosostan and protect any other territory in the CDR.
The expanded area would cover 55.01 km² of Tauranga.
